Good pick. I like Patterson from his time with the Rockets. He's a bit soft, but he has a good j and is a solid stretch four.

You are up again.

I don't think Bass has been taken yet. Decent scoring option for me off the bench who can play some defense too.

I believe you're up

I think stm85 is up, or is he not participating anymore?

We skipped him in the last round, so he's still participating but he's on autoskip until he returns.

Gotta have a Longhorn and didn't want to take Myck Kabongo, Damion James, or any of the other remaining turrible Longhorns on the board

Went with Rudy Gobert for the last selection. He's a project who is limited to in-the-pain scoring and who needs to work on his lower body strength. But the size and length alone makes him merit consideration. 9 minutes per game is a very small sample size, but it was encouraging that his per 36 numbers in rebounds and shot blocking were among the best in the NBA. He's an impressive rim protector who has improved his foot work and overall technique in the offseason. He's also a dangerous finisher near the rim and is capable of routinely flushing after nabbing offensive rebounds. It helps that he played very well in the Summer League. I see Gobert as a player who is still in the prospect stages, but someone who also has high potential, and the latter is much easier to bank on when picking a player who can be held off of the active roster.

Is their a 15th round, or are we done after 14?

We're in the 15th and final round. A little unfair for the people at the back, but making an extra pick at the high end of the round probably wouldn't do a whole lot at this point anyway.

I was going to suggest adding a 16th round, and making coaches draftable after a certain point (say, the start of round 4 or 6) to balance it out a little, but it would have come too late. Maybe for next year?

Nvm. To finish off the draft I take Norris Cole. Very good defensively and a good 3 point shot. Not much of a scorer, but he's a solid backup

I like Gobert pick. It was between him and Nurkic for me. In hindsight, after reading today that Nurkic is out of World Championship with MRI revealing problems on both knees, should have gone with Gobert maybe.

Kinda out of left-field, but I wanted a high-upside guy to complete the roster and I love what I'm getting with Ennis. Might get a bit of flak for the pick, but I think he's a candidate to surprise everyone this year and Pat Riley loves him already.

The knees are always a flag with the big guys. You're not getting much luck on the "selecting guys that don't get hurt or suspended afterwards" front though.

Thank you. I know nothing about Nurkic, to be honest, but I assume that he has solid upside as well. Both knees? That sounds troublesome, but fortunately, there is still some time before the season.

What a horrific injury to P. George...

Son showed me a photo without letting me know first what is it of. I almost fainted. Still feeling sick.

Huge upside. He is only 19 yo and was one of the best players in Adriatic League. Like all young players, he needs to do a lot of work on defense but he is a great offensive weapon as of right now I think. Moves impressively well for a guy that size. Hard to stop in the paint.

There were no details about knee issues, he mentioned both knees in an open letter to public, after Bosnian basketball union slammed him for pulling out of the national team without consulting their doctors. Nurkic opted to get examined by someone else, whom he obviously trusts more.

Truth got the worst luck. I'm sorry my good man.

His career as a superstar is over. My dad suffered the same injury 5 years ago and to this day he can longer run. It's gruesome, and don't look at that pic

Agreed on the former and thank you. But it's entirely too premature to go as far as saying that his career as a top tier player is over. There's a difference between a professional athlete and your father physically, so I wouldn't draw direct comparisons between the two.

Definitely. The leg snapped entirely.

Sounds very encouraging. Doesn't sound like the knees are necessarily going to hold him back, but I'm sure that it would be a sigh of relief if he sees a positive report.

Yeah it looked like his lower leg pretty much snapped in half. Gruesome. Hope he recovers.

How does Paul George's leg injury look compared to Andersen Silva's? More gruesome, less, or similar?

Think Kevin Ware

I'd say more in-between the two. His bone wasn't sticking out like Ware's. It was somewhat similar though. It's at least somewhat encouraging that Ware said he would expect a full recovery.

I didn't see the Ware one, The most well-known one I saw recently was Silva's (Piri Weepu would be another one if allblackraven saw that), but if you say George's break was more graphic than Silva's then I'm glad I haven't seen it yet. Silva's shin wrapped around the guy in a way shins aren't meant to wrap around guys.

It's hard to compare these, each one was really terrible. I watched the game when Weepu's ankle went toward the sideline but this photo today takes the cake. I'm not going to watch the George injury video, which is all over the place. People are sick.
