Don't worry. I put something very special in the roster thread for him to cheer him up!

While you're at it, can you please add "n" to the "allblackrave" ?

Yea wasn't trying to debate or say you were wrong..

Just making a statement

From a very casual fan's view, that's how I saw it in Houston

And kudos to Calvin for the Fuzzy Lumpkins reference. Classic cartoon.

Shout out to those who quote the wrong post

Took BPA.

Remember, he just turned 25 a few months ago. Each year he has steadily improved his all around game. Last season I believe he was the 3rd best player in the league behind KD & Bron.

I would disagree with the standing. I personally had another PF ahead of him, if not two. But he did take a step forward this year and the selection makes sense.

Easily a top 5 player.. And that's coming from a grizzlies fan

Had a pic ready to go of him.. Sigh

I thought about taking one other PF over him. I think it's debatable who is currently better but the PF I'm thinking of is also nearly 4 years older than him. I don't know who the other would be. The guy who has 10 years on him? lol...

Blake is a better distributer, more athletic, played more games last season and had a higher PER. Throughout their careers against each other, Blake also has the better head to head numbers.

Another thing is, I don't think he's done developing yet. Couldn't go wrong with either but I like Blake more at this point.

LAst season he was better than him^.

We're referring to the same player. No, the other is the same age as Griffin.

Griffin is more athletic and is the better distributor between the two, but the other was a better rebounder, is more polished as a post scorer with a better repertoire, and is a better mid-range shooter. He was simply unguardable in the Postseason. That's coming from someone who watched both teams closely this season. Griffin has been terrific as a P&R roll man and has finally begun developing as a low post scorer, but I believe that he's also benefited from the passing abilities of Chris Paul. Can't argue much about the development, though Griffin could be near his ceiling offensively as it stands.

It may be a matter of opinion, but beyond the stats, he was better than Griffin last season.

Ehhh griffin was pretty dominant across the board last year... His midrange jumper was a lot better than previous years and defenders couldn't settle for that as easily as the past

Even though the other player you are talking about is a better offensive scorer... I think blake is the better option.. Franchise wise

Better than the previous years, yes. But that's a relative statement. It wasn't on par with Aldridge's jumper. Aldridge was still the better offensive scorer. I'm mentioning him by name because he'll be the next selection. Franchise wise, I can't argue too much. But if we see the same Alridge next year as we did in the playoffs, he'll be the best PF in the NBA.

Wanted Aldridge, but I think Kyrie will be a nice fit with what I have in mind.

Love is the best PF in the nba and it's not close imho

Mr. Refuses to play defense, and most overrated player in basketball right now? Yeah. Griffin force makes good commercials and is a good player but Aldrige has a better game. He's excellent in the post and has range far exceeding Griffin's. Griffin may have improved his mid ranger, Aldrige is automatic. He's a meh defender but is a monster on the glass, while the leading rebounder does most of the dirty work on Griffin force's team.

Aldridge also benefited playing with his beast of a PG. I agree he's better at those 3 attributes, but not by much. You're right though, he was unguardable against Houston in the playoffs. He became human again once they met up with SA, but still had an overall great performance.

I think it's apples & oranges. But I think we both agree they're not far apart from another and Blake is younger so I think it makes him the best option for building a franchise. Blake's shooting development these last two years have been no joke. I think he'll keep progressing and get better the more polished he gets.
