Westbrook is a top 5 player in the league. Good pick.

Thank you. I was surprised he lasted to me, so I'm thrilled. The way it shook out, I was going to either get CP3 or Westbrook. Can't go wrong with either IMO.

Sorry, I was referencing per 36 min stats. Considering he was limited for most of the regular season, a per minutes basis is a more accurate representation of what he brings to the table. He clearly outshines Harden in this comparison as Harden is at 5.8 Assists/36 compared to Westbrook 8.1 Assists/36. Harden's assist rate is 27% while Westbrook is at 40%, which is below CP3, but essentially equivalent to guys like Curry or Wall.

I'm not sure what you mean by "assist ratio", but I assume you are referring to assist to turnover. Westbrook is a high TO player due to his usage rate and style of play, but he also forces TOs at an elite rate which balances this out to some degree.

Ah, I see. That makes sense, as he did see just under 8 minutes less per game than Harden, which is significant. That being said, it's not a matter of whether he outshines Harden in assist numbers. I would hope and expect him to. My point is that Harden is one of the best non-PG passers in the NBA. On a per 36 basis, there were only 3 others ahead of him in assists per game who weren't Point Guards. It's not fair to label one as a distributor and the other as a non-distributor. While he does handle the ball early and often, considering his position, Harden is most certainly a dependable distributor.

We were looking at different statistics, I believe. That's my mistake. I figured you were referring to the assist ratio per ESPN. Can't argue much there. His forcing of TOs does help alleviate the TOs on the offensive end.

Harden is definitely among the best assist generators for a SG, but I think that also is a function of the offense he plays in. There really is no true PG between Beverley and Lin. He's the guy that handle the ball and initiates the offense more often than not and his usage rate is considerably higher than the "PGs" on his team.

The assist rate I was talking about is basically the percentage of buckets scored that were assisted by player X.

You are on the money there. And although it's partly due to the abilities of their PGs, or the lack thereof, the fact that Harden is the most trusted ball handler says enough about him as a passer. I've seen him make a number of impressive dishes this season and the one before. I'd understand the opposition if I were arguing that he was one of the best passers in the NBA in general. However, the only notion I'm debating is whether he's a distributor or not. Personally, I see a very clear answer to that question, which is a resounding yes.

Ah, I figured that's what it was initially, but every time I looked for the assist rate, it gave me link for the assist ratio. I found it on HoopData, but they didn't have this season in the books. What source are you using?

I was looking at pro-basketball reference.

I had a very very hard time deciding between 3 PF's but Love is 25 and is an absolute machine

Terrific choice. If George was gone, it would've been between Paul and Love for me. One of the best stretch fours and rebounders at just 25 is a rare combination.

I know I'm not in the game, but I hope you don't mind me chiming in. I'm not a big fan of basketball, so I actually thought Harden as a PG based on his handling the ball so much and distributing it and almost running that offense on the floor.

LeBron over KD for me

Harden isn't a PG in any form.. He handles the ball a lot because their PG's can't facilitate very well and mainly because he works best with the ball in his hands and has zero off ball game

KD is 4 years younger so I don't think it would be ridiculous for him to go #1 in this game. Last season he was clearly the better overall player IMO; hence the MVP. It's only 1 year though.

Not playing this game either(maybe next year. I would be lost after the first couple rounds lol) but I might as well Chime in on who I like at this point. I would go LeBron first very slightly although those guys are obviously the top 2. Like the George pick a lot, love the CPIII pick, and am a big fan of the Love pick. Also Davis is a nice pick as well, big fan of him.
