So if OKC has 3 of the top 20ish players in their prime and "2 of the top 6" together for a few years now and they still can't win

Wonder what's up that

Injuries happen. They aren't a deep team. Their coach is terrible.

I don't care what anyone says, Westbrooks's per 36 numbers are ridiculous: 25.5 Points. 8.1 Assists, 6.7 Boards, 2.2 Steals. 43% shooting and 82% FTs.

There's like 3 players in the NBA that can that.

3 players don't make up a team. They have the talent to win it all especially if Adams and Lamb both develop. They also have good roll players as well.

Brooks is just a bad coach

This is getting ridiculous. Everyone is either being a total homer or a total hater, some of these points are very biased.

I agree with this although in reality this is what happens with most sports talk.

IMO Westbrook is a top 5 talent. Athleticism/build/speed, physically he's got it all. However I think he takes too many stupid shots and doesn't pass enough. He's great in his own right but when your the PG playing next to Durant, (the greatest scorer in the world) more shots should go to him, and it shouldn't be close. I think Russell wants to be "The Guy" so bad, that it hurts their team. Not having a good 3rd scoring option doesn't help either so how much can you fault him? If he facilitated the ball more and held back his trigger finger, I think he'd be a better player. Only a select few PG's would play better next to Durant. It also depends on the system. IMO, Rondo is not one of them.

Not according to his PER.

PER is nice and all but not something to base an entire evaluation on. I watched every celtics game from the 2010-2013 season and it's not hard to see he's been improving. Particularly his shooting. He was easily playing at his best in 2012-13.

I agree his shot has improved quite a bit, but the numbers I posted regarding his work at the rim isn't as good. He's attempting less and less layups and making them at a lower clip. His inability to get to the FT line and make his shots is also a major flaw in his game.

There's not really an inbetween with Westbrook.

There's not really an inbetween with Westbrook.

And that goes for us here and for Westbrook himself

For me there is. I see Westbrook as a top 10 NBA player and a top 5 PG but I don't see him as the godly player others do nor the scrub as others feel he is

20 minutes...

My time stamp says 7:36 pm for the pick and it is 6:17 pm for me right now (central).

Not complaining though as I would rather it be 20 minutes.  My time stamps have been messed up before.

Funny thing is people will list 4 or so PG's over him but still call him a top 10 player

So does that mean at least 5 of the top 10 players in the league are PG's?

I don't think you're really in the middle - top 10 in the NBA sounds pretty godly to me.

I was wondering, too.

I don't think the NBA is a very deep or a very talented league right now, so maybe most of the top players are PGs.  I think more has been asked of that position in recent years.

Maybe I'm just lamenting the death of the dominant big man.

I listed two PGs over him

You should see what others have been saying about him then.

I think 5 of the top 10 players in the NBA being PGs is reasonable...CP3, Westbrook, Curry, Rose, maybe Parker. Lillard, Wall and Irving could be in that discussion soon.

I don't see anyone listing 4 PGs ahead of Westbrook though. He is 2 or 3 on pretty much every list I see.
