As it stands at this current moment I have.

1. Spurs.

2. Cavs

3. Thunder(way too talented)

4. Warriors

5. Rockets

As my standings for the teams most likely to make the finals(barring injury of course).

Good as Lawson is, keep him away from the whisky.

Warriors

Spurs

Cavs

Then everybody else

Thunder have been forgotten about. With a new coach they could utilize their lineup.

PG: Westbrook

SG: Waiters

SF: Durant

PF: Ibaka

C: Kanter

With Adams coming off the bench there is the talent to make a legit run vs those other teams.

Yeah, as long as Durant and Westbrook are healthy they can hack it with anyone. "As long as they're healthy" is no small caveat though.

The Magic trade a protected second-rounder (31-55 protected, so that pick isn't going anywhere for a while) for Shabazz Napier. The exciting young core gets more exciting.

Vonleh and Harkless will contribute to a Blazers team many predict to be playoff less since we lost 4 0f 5 starters.  I think .500 as I am an optimist.

Very best case scenario is Lillard playing like an MVP and we get the 8th seed.

Or Plumlee becomes a Thunder God.

So without injury they could be a mid round playoff team??

I've been hearing the same thing. From what I've heard, Harkless is on his way to Vegas to participate in the Summer League. I kinda hope we don't tank. I've never gotten excited over the NBA draft compared to the NFL draft. I'm viewing this season as just an extended preseason for us. That's how low my hopes are for this team at this moment. Free agency next year will be interesting. One can hope KD comes to Portland. One can hope.

Dom.. With our luck KD will sustain a horrible injury in the first month.  Hope not but recent events are not in our favor.

76ers C Joel Embiid is going to undergo another foot surgery and is expected to miss the upcoming season.

Typical Sixers luck

Stop talking about it. I'm hoping if everyone shuts their mouths and stops mentioning his name, he will disappear completely, and it will be like it all never happened. He can just sit in basketball purgatory forever and play video games with Greg Oden.

GregOden and Sam Bowie. The Blazers should eliminate the word center from all conversation except for Pryzbilla and Sabonis. .

Sixers, Knicks, LA Lakers.  I can see the Kings and Nuggets in the next group.  Last place is not good and my Blazers may end up 10 under .500 or .500 if they gel at the right time.

Man oh man they're going to look different...49erish-like rebuild. Sorry bout that... I bet Lilliard would lead them to the playoffs if it was the East...

Yeah, I feel stupid for not at least including the 6ers... I can't see Melo getting shut down again so I think NY could fight for that 8th... I'm hoping Kobe goes out on good terms and I love DRuss so I'm not gonna put em in that bottom tier mostly out of respect but I still love watching em suffer ha

Cavs,Bulls,Wiz,Heat,Hawks,Bucks,Raptors, Knicks/Celtics/Hornets/Pacers

Warriors,Spurs,Thunder,Clippers,Rockets,Grizz,Mavs, Pelicans/Wolves/Blazers

Almost August predictions

Truly a noble pursuit. ^_^

The Eastern playoff race fascinates me for a few reasons, including that I think Orlando should at least be knocking on the door and that I don't think the conference is as bad as people make out to be anymore because we're starting to see a string of rebuilds beginning to come together.

Surefire teams that should probably start looking at firing someone if they don't make the playoffs include the Cavs, Hawks, Wizards and Bulls. Teams that should make it but you never know if they take a step back or get bad luck with injuries or other some such include the Heat, Bucks, Raptors and Pacers. If one of those four sides slides a bit that leaves us, the Celtics, the Hornets, the Nets and the Knicks to compete for any spots that get opened. The Nets will probably continue to unravel and I could see the Knicks finding a way to do themselves in.

So that picture would go something like Cavs, Hawks, Wizards, Bulls, Heat, Raptors, Bucks, Pacers, Celtics, Magic, Hornets (I could probably see the Hornets finishing over us, but screw it), Knicks, Nets, Pistons, Sixers. It feels a little low for the Pistons, but that 8-14 tier seems fairly fluid tbh.

The West is looking at the Spurs, Warriors, Thunder and Rockets and realistically those are the only four sides that I could see making it to the NBA Finals (sorry codizzle, love you really). Beyond that, I think the Pelicans will continue to improve and the Grizzlies and Clippers are more or less playoff locks - again, assuming Blake Griffin doesn't get taken out for the season after getting hit by lightning. The eighth spot is between the Mavs, Suns, Timberwolves, Jazz and don't sleep on the Kings.

Just to make a call on ordering the teams in those tiers, we'd be looking at the Warriors, Thunder*, Spurs, Rockets, Clippers, Pelicans, Grizzlies, Suns, Mavs, Timberwolves, Jazz, Blazers, Kings, Lakers, Nuggets.

I see you guys in that 30- to 35-win spot with Lillard winning a chunk of games on his own. That'd be picking roughly 7-10 in the draft.

With how the Ravens are going this NBA season can't get started soon enough.

Unfortunately, my Blazers won't be good enough to make up for this season.

My Magic are hoping to compete for a playoff spot, but that's what I was hoping for last year as well. I'm not sure how well we do this season, but it'll be nice to focus on something that isn't our secondary.

I think they can. The East is just WEAK.
