Btw. I counted Gordon's suspension against him. If he is out the year Torrey goes in. LG and both safety positions are the weakest in the division. Linebackers the deepest.

Flacco doesn't deserve to be on that list. I would have Roethlisberger as my starting QB, and Dalton as his backup.

About as laughable as damashek.

If you were given 2 QBs and one threw for 33 TDs and 20 INTs and another threw for 19 TDs and 22 INTs, which would you say is better?

If you were given two quarterbacks and one had a 9-4 playoff record, an NFL record five on the road, a Super Bowl MVP, and tied Joe Montana's 11:0 TD:INT ratio and the other was 0-3 in the playoffs with a 1:6 TD:INT ratio, who would you take?

Michael Johnson isn't in the division anymore and Daily Smith is an outside linebacker in the 4-3, and a damn good one

You pick the guy with the better line and the stacked receiver corps. Every time.

Is this based on last year or careers?

If just last year than obviously no Flacco.

I was basing it a little bit off of both-but primarily last year, because it's the most recent. Come to think about it though, I may have been slightly wrong about the ridiculousness of putting Flacco on the list. I still wouldn't put him on there based off of his 2013 stats, but I expect him to have a bit of a bounce back season in 2014, so his placement might not be quite as absurd as I originally thought.

I would say it's for the 2014 season. So past history with a littke projection. I thought about some rookies but coukdbt justify them over proven players. Some possibilities..

LG bitonio.

LB shazier or Mosley

Montana did it in one less playoff game. Besides that, Joe would still be the back up behind Ben. Everyone here cries about the o line we have, but I've seen some of those lines Ben has been behind and they weren't pretty. He still made it work for him.

i considered Ben, but he has missed too many starts costing the steelers playoff opportunities. Qb durability is vital. No backup can win a championship.

One season behind a bad line and look at what happend to Joe. I get that durability matters, but being under constant pressure doesn't help. Those last two games when Joe was injured didn't exactly help our chances, even with him on the field.

Part of the constant pressure is the way Ben plays. It's a double edged sword. And Ben has missed and/or been severely limited in a lot more than a couple of games. Brady is kind of the antithesis of this. In the last few years he won't stand and take any big hits to deliver a ball anymore. He did that in his younger days and I believe it has limited his big plays. But I don't think he's missed a game since the acl injury so there's something to be said for that as well.

The thing to remember is Montana's weapons were also way better.

Ben's offensive lines aren't great, but a lot of it was the system. That Bruce Arian's offense was such a long developing, deep route based offense. Of course he was going to take a lot of hits and sack. He just isn't that durable.
