Yeahhhh… I'm looking at lists of players and I don't think I can do this.  I don't know nearly enough.

I don't see how only doing 20 teams means we should draft more players, I would think that because we have less teams, the teams would be more stacked/unrealistic. Can anyway explain for me

We're not drafting more players. We're drafting the same exact amount of players as teams are allowed to keep on the NBA roster, which is 12 active and 3 inactive. We only had 3 GMs last season that dropped out by the end, with you being one of them. They left presumably on personal reasons and didn't even make it through 12 rounds. There was absolutely nothing that occurred last season to even suggest that we downsize from the year before. Like I've said before, we can make the last 3 rounds optional, but that's the only middle ground. It's staying at 15.

I don't really see the need to go 15 rounds. Most NBA teams rotations are 8-10 players deep and only 12 active rosters. Last year we are taking washed up vets or guys no one has ever heard of in the last couple rounds.

I don't see how me dropping out due to personal reasons is relevant to this. This is all I am saying:

If we only have 20 teams, then we will certainly have a much more stacked roster than in real life. Thus, the 3 inactive players would hardly be worthy of the inactive label in the actual NBA.

It's relevant in the fact that you and the other two GMs didn't leave because the Draft itself was too lengthy. Every GM who was still there through 12 rounds participated all the way through. Last year, some of the names that went in the last rounds were Patrick Beverly, Wesley Johnson, Noris Cole, Mo Williams, Steven Adams, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jordan Hill, Gorgui Dieng, Tyler Hansbrough, Timofey Mozgov, Kendall Marshall, Caron Butler. Players like Gerald Green weren't even selected.

There is no reasonable explanation to why we can't have 12 mandatory rounds and have an optional period of 3 more rounds thereafter. If you don't want to participate in the optional period, then by all means, don't. But at least attempt to be mindful of the fact that there will likely be a significant amount of GMs who would.

This is my point exactly

Actually come to think of it there is no point in trying to keep this realistic. My point was that guys like Patrick Beverly who were "inactive"  in this game are starters in real life, making it unrealistic. But the fact that were only doing 20 teams makes it unrealistic anyway.

I did. The fact that we'd have more relevant players floating around in the abyss does more for the argument of extension than it does a reduction. For example, if two teams have a weaker position after 12 rounds than originally anticipated and there is a starter still available who could be a viable depth player, how would they know who the player would sign with? It would be similar to our lack of an FA period in the very first FM. It's not as if we're increasing the allotted team size. Every NBA team is capable of having 15 players under contract. Unless we have 10 GMs drafting, our teams are bound to have some holes. And those holes can be filled via the parameters of real life NBA roster rules. I fall back on the fact that we had no issues with the roster size last season. None. I understand that a select few GMs may not wish to continue as far, and that's exactly why we're proposing the last 3 rounds to be optional.

Sure I can agree to that proposal

How does Sunday night sound as a deadline for the 20th person

Tomorrow night would be better IMO but I can live with Sunday

yeah we were but personally I noticed that after like 3 Rounds I didn't know a lot of players. I am not that much into basketball and I want to leave the spot open for someone more interested in it. If there really is noone left and you guys want to have 20 people in it I could still do it but as I said as of now I want to leave the spot open

You want to take the last spot now?
