biggest trade bust?

43 posts in this topic

One fourth, with a big name who got beat out by a rookie and sent us home from playoffs. Not a high pick but definitely biggest bust

He was injured...In his defense Torrey had one of the best series of games a rookie has had. First 3 catches all for TDs.

Evans made some crucial grabs and to be fair that dropped pass was knocked out almost instantly.  He was never a bad player.

My buddy Dave. No question.

He became a fan on the playoff run ( from the Saints ) remained a Ravens fan from the super bowl through the summer.

Dropped the Ravens the day after the opener with Denver.

Waffled around till he jumped on the Seahawks bandwagon mid season.

Fair-weather guy I suppose.

biggest undrafted rookie put on practice squad but never made the team bust ?

James Harrison, by far... maybe Mana Silva comes second.

I heard somewhere that the Ravens cut Harrison because he was "uncoachable."

Yeah he was. If he didn't hurt his foot in the pre season he may have had a good year. I remember in that Pats game he made that cool 1 hander on the sideline. But it's amazing how 1 play can label your career ...

Bill Buckner has a tear in his eye right now.........

Yep, heard the same. I mean the guy was cut 3 times by the Steelers before we signed him and cut him.

Jeff Saturday would be another. Probally more of these than trade busts since trades aren't that big in the NFL. At least player for player trades.

I'd have to do more homework on the cheerleader idea. :sherlock:

This one would have to be Scott Mitchell or Lee Evans. I guess given the consequences, Evans takes the prize, but Mitchell was probably the worse trade, given what he was expected to be (ie starting QB).

I have to agree with B-more Ravor,

Mitchell trade was the worst. Ravens gave up a 3rd and conditional 5th (what did that end up being?). for the crappiness that was Scott Mitchell.

You people have got to be joking calling the Evans pick-up the bust of all-time. Got to be absolutely joking. My God... the internet. Haha

I agree. We traded a 4th or a 6th for him. He was hurt but without that one handed snag against the Texans, we don't even get to the title game to see that drop. Let's not forget, Evans was the only wideout open on that play.....

That says something about him as a WR

Lee Evans dominated that pre-season it makes me wonder what would happen if he didn't get hurt. We also need to give credit where credit its due to the DB who knocked it out of his hands perfectly. Evans is a bust no doubt but I will need to do more research before I say he is the biggest bust for us.
