Chuck Noll

If you haven't already heard, long time Steelers head coach Chuck Noll died tonight at 82 from natural causes. If you are unfamiliar with him, lets just say that before he took over, the Steelers were the laughingstock of the NFL. Think Lions or Browns bad. He helped turn that team around and made them a dynasty by winning 4 Super Bowls and I don't think the Steelers are nearly as much respected today if it isn't for him. This is a big loss for the Steelers and even though they are our arch rivals, this is one of those situations where it goes beyond that(especially considering the fact that he coached before there even was a Ravens lol). An icon of the game, RIP

You hit it right on the head. Chuck Noll is the most integral part of what is now known as Steeler Nation. Definitely has to be in the top 10 of HCs of forever. RIP.

I saw his Steelers whip my Baltimore Colts many times.  Including a playoff game I saw at Memorial stadium.  The Steelers number 1 defense against the Colts number 1 offense.  Final score, Pitt 44 Balt 14.

He really did help turn that franchise around.

I would have thought that a Steeler fan would have started this one but either way he is one of the greatest coaches ever....RIP!

I, as a Steeler fan, of course always liked Coach Noll.

I liked him even more when he retired and became both a sailor and a wine connoisseur. After all, what would a sailor be without wine, and what would wine be without sailors ?

RIP Coach Noll, and thanks for the memories.
