Kaepernick

21 posts in this topic

I hope the media crushes Kaepernick for his 6year 120 million deal because he is a below average QB who has done less than Flacco has let's see how this goes. I'm sure somehow the media will say ow great this contract is.what do you guys think.

He is far from below average. Kaepernick is probably the most physically gifted QB the league has ever seen. He has the tools to be a dominant QB, just needs more experience learning the game. His contract is inline with what they expect him to be

He doesn't deserve that contract based on what he had done. They are hoping he improves a lot, because with that much money the team around him is gonna face a drop off in talent.

Wow. That's a lot more than I expected. He's better than below average, but I'm not a fan of the contract.

His field vision is very poor IMO.  I think they could ultimately live with him being a one speed fastball thrower, but he leaves much to be desired through the air.

6 years, $126 million.  Kaep is a good quarterback, but I question his accuracy.  Obviously his speed is a huge factor, but I think their struggles last year really showed how well defenses adapt to "new" playing styles.

Seems rather high for someone who hasn't exactly produced.

Hell no he doesn't, that's for sure. Is it crazy to give a guy with two years experience that kind of money? In-freaking-sane.

But if anyone can bring out the best in Kaepernick, it's Harbaugh, so I think they made a somewhat safe bet....he does have the tools to be an All Pro type QB; Harbaugh + some more time can help him a lot with the mental part of the game

If you recall they were trying to trade Harbaugh to the Browns.

Thank god the Niners were too stupid to take that offer......

Those kind of contracts are going to murder San Fran's and eventually Seattle's talent pool.

After seeing the details of this contract, it's extremely team friendly. He can essentially get cut any time and all SF eats is his 12M signing bonus. The 60 million is guaranteed for injury, but that's it. They can still cut him.

Meaning that Balkee just made everyone look like an idiot....

About what I was thinking... He got paid for what they expect from him, not for what he has done so far imo

Both teams are good at drafting and developing talent. I wouldn't be so sure, that the talent around them will just vanish. It will decrease for sure, but those teams will still be about above average atleast. Joe won the SB with a team, that was above average and if Colin and Russel deserve 100mill contracts, both of them will do the same (not sure, if it will happen, but that's the theory).

Joe is still trying to get back to that form (which I think he will under Kubiak), but in truth the only post-Bress QB signing that is garanteed to work out is Rodgers (obviously).

Atleast the Ravens have actual reasons to hope, that Joe's contract won't kill the team, but with Kaep it's basically pure speculation and hype.
