Add Yamon Figurs, not the worst but pretty bad. Waste of a 3rd round pick. Good returner but thats it.

Figurs had a great rookie year, after that he just sort of faded away.

Well he was believed to be a top 15 pick soooooo

I could agree if he wasted his God given talent, but because we're talking about a "tragedy".... No bust..

Just unfortunate dude.

I would agree with Yamon Figurs being a bust, but I ran back too many punts with him on Madden...

I never ran many back with him, but I'll be damned if he didn't have something like 18 TDs for me one year; half of them 40+ yarders

While he wasn't a bust in the typical sense, Michael Oher still failed to live up to his billing.

When you lead the NFL in penalties at your position over a  4 - 5 year period, you are essentially the Frank Walker of offensive tackles.

And you never want to be the Frank Walker of anything.

Sure after they picked him lol. Just like Dan Codys head was screwed on straight right?

Kindle falling down the steps drunk had nothing to do with any alleged knee problems in college (that the Ravens docs obviously felt were OK).

Similarly, Dan Cody's "head being screwed on straight" had to do with some depression issues in college.  Not sure what his knee problems in the pros had to do with those depression issues.  In fact, the guy fought hard 3 times to recover from knee/leg injuries to come back and play, only to be let down by his knee/legs again.  Kind of runs contrary to the whole depression concerns, wouldn't you think?

Both ending up being "bust" as draft picks, but that doesn't mean that the Ravens were wrong in their scouting and evaluation of those players.  We'll never know, but they aren't the only players that any team has ever drafted who never panned out because of injuries.

Kindle wasn't bad scouting though.

Exactly.

Was thinking the same. You can't mention kindle without mentioning Dan Cody

Those two picks made me worry about the upshaw pick

Other than being 2nd round picks, what do they have in common?

Upshaw may also end up not living up to expectations, but there's no comparison to their circumstances.  Kindle and Cody basically never played because of injuries.

That hasn't been an issue for Upshaw.

So I understand you asked other than being second round picks what do they have in common then you proceeded to name something they had in common interesting way to post.

But other things that had in common were all their measurables were similar

You can also add that they were picked up at similar positions

Expectations were similar etc etc

But, Kindle and Cody not playing had nothing to do with any of that. That's the point - who cares what the expectations were, Kindle and Cody didn't play due to injury, so there is no similarity to Upshaw.

Or, are you saying that Upshaw is destined to fail only because he was drafted in a similar spot with the same expectations?
