2014 Injury Thread

Personally I don't think the increase in ACL injuries has anything to do with the limited amount of full contact practices. I think the increase of speed, strength and agility training has more to do with it. If you look at some of the training these guys do now, it's insane. This training has allowed a high increase in muscle mass with a combination with speed. You can strengthen the muscle but you can't strengthen the tendons that support the muscle, resulting in the increase of ACL Injuries. JMHO

Holloway from the Cowboys is the latest player to suffer from a career ending neck injury. Ironically it happened while playing against the Ravens this past Saturday.

A huge part of it's about the athletes not being trained to match up where their leg lands in their mind with where it actually lands - if that makes sense.

Per NFL.com believed to be a torn ACL

Hello number two pick or possibly number one pick again in 2015. Sorry but this Jeff Fisher experiment is not working out. Also Les Snead their GM, well their picks haven't been that great since he came in.

Well there is always Tim Tebow lol. Seriously though, I always they should have grabbed some quarterback in case but they never have supporting Bradford. It's like the football gods are telling them something but they are just ignoring it lol.

The Injury bug is hitting the Falcons. Falcons lose OL Mike Johnson for the season testing their OL depth early after losing Sam Baker. Now they have lost ILB Marquis Spruill who was the 168th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. This also after losing Sean Weatherspoon.

Unwavering support for Bradford and now they have absolutely nothing at QB, in a beast division. Heck, Tebow might be worth a shot lol, may as well go for the #1 pick again. Sell some jerseys in the interim. (Edit) .. Apparently the Rams have interest in Sanchez, lol.

Well I'm thinking it's more of Chip Kelly's system he Sanchez is playing so well. If he were to be traded to the Rams, he'd be reunited with OC Brian Schottenhiemer and he can butt fumble the Rams to the number one pick.

Sucks injuries are starting to pile up with one just one preseason game left.

Ahh, the Shotty butt fumble connection haha. He must be lobbying to get Sanchez in there. Man, I just hate injuries. Especially when you start losing top guys. Fingers crossed we stay relatively healthy.

We do have RT Jah Reid and maybe we could part with ILB Josh Bynes if they want to give us a 2nd round pick, lol.

I think the Rams have to draft a QB. They can't continue this stuff anymore. They haven't improved much despite having multiple first round picks for like three years now or something like that. Maybe two years. That's ridiculous. I foresee a GM and coaching shakeup in the future in STL, with a new QB as well.

Injury report before the 4:30 games start.

Derrick Johnson (LB, Chiefs) may be lost for the season - they believe he tore his Achilles tendon. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000390538/article/chiefs-believe-derrick-johnson-tore-achilles

Rams may be down another QB after Shaun Hill left with a thigh injury. No word on whether it's serious and if you may see Tebow in St Louis. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000390518/article/shaun-hill-injured-in-rams-loss-against-vikings

And we have Clowney and Ben Tate with knee injuries, Evan Mathis with a leg injury severe enough to be carted back to the locker room, Jake Matthews with a suspected sprained ankle, and Dri Archer has an elbow and ankle injury. And there's a bunch of others. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000390338/article/injury-roundup-bengals-tyler-eifert-exited-game
