'Doesn't look good' for Le'Veon Bell to play vs. Ravens:

Steelers always overstate their injuries. They make it sound like half the team is in wheelchairs but then they all show up to play on gameday. We do the opposite.

Aaron Rodgers is playing with a tear in his calf muscle.

That would limit his movement which is his bread and butter ability;  GB won't go far into the playoff.......

If his Oline has a decent game I hope he still torches Dallas secondary. They can't stop Cobb and Nelson.

Chris Johnson shot in Orlando this morning

From the NFL Mobile app:

Chris Johnson is recovering at an Orlando, Florida hospital after being shot in the shoulder early Sunday morning, a source who has spoken to the player told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.

The former New York Jets and Tennessee Titans running back will be "OK" according to Rapoport. The Orange County Sherriff's Office released a media advisory, which indicated that Johnson and two others were in a Jeep that was fired upon Sunday morning.

The victims said that an unknown vehicle pulled beside them at a red light and opened fire. According to police, the incident took place at 4:09 a.m. ET and indicates that the driver of the Jeep has passed away. Another man was shot and survived. Johnson and the other surviving passenger were described to be in "stable" condition. No one is under arrest at this time.

Johnson is officially a free agent Tuesday after the Jets declined his option earlier this month. Our thoughts are with Johnson and his family.

It can cause vision loss, weakness, fatigue, issues keeping weight on (or excess weight gain), headaches, additional time with injuries healing, if he has type 2

Much of what you mentioned are long term effects and not acute complications typically associated with either DM or DMII. He's likely been affected by fatigue and difficulty concentrating as a result of either. That's the most likely complications affecting his play. I'm more concerned that he has it as an athlete. Usually exercise should help prevent it. I guess they managed it without medication but it's strange that diet is his only modification although not entirely uncommon.

I've never had it or known any athletes with it. I just knew it could be serious if left untreated, but I didn't know much about the super short term affects. Sound like a bad excise to you?

Well, the issue is, in part, that diabetes mellitus is not well understood even with our advances. What I can affirm is that acute pancreatitis is a complication of abdominal injuries football players can sustain. Furthermore, acute pancreatitis can lead to diabetes. That's not taking into account his natural risk factor of being African American.

It could be an excuse, may not be.

I know a few people with diabetes and most have a very good feel for how it affects them and how to control it, but I have never heard of an athlete with it. Well, actually, one of my dorm mates from last year did and he was always fine to go out and ball with us and was probably the most athletic.

Peterson's comments caught me off guard
