Taliaferro Arrested in VA. Update: Charges Dropped

220 posts in this topic

Apparently, this is big enough news for ESPN to put it on their headlines. Not smart .. bur really ... a drunk in public charge for a team's 4th round pick - is that really worthy of headlines?

Because it's our 4th arrest. Even more so because he's a running back.

That's my guess that it was partially rolled down.  Big strong dude grabs the window to support himself as he's a little tipsy, ends up ripping it out instead.  Not defending him necessarily but it sounds unintentional.  He wasn't driving and he was out drunk in a taxi.  I've done the same thing (minus ripping the glass off lol) and I do a lot less "risky" things than most people I know.

Well, he went to a high school right around the corner from me and I can tell you he is a man among boys with how huge he was.

Drunk strength is something serious

Seriously, though. Small scale in my mind. Not a violent crime, illegal drugs, or a DUI. Unacceptable, still, but hey - it's that kind of offseason.

I honestly think it should be dropped charges. I'd like to hear more about what happened exactly with the drunk in public, but the window was paid for almost immediately, so it sounds way overblown

I have a new theory.  This is all a clever ploy from the universe telling us that we need to sign this guy...

1) Can he play RB?

2) Are we really ready for the flood of threads clamouring for him to start when Joe has his first sub-SB game?

He has the heart of a lion. We have faith, hope and love in this young man, he's our guy and he's hungry for the opportunity.

Not an ESPN fan.....  #1, they are not fans of the Ravens at all...  #2, their whole crew is comprised of drama guys/girls, and #3, business is slow right now.....  sooooooo...  let them have their fun.

They could have run with Gronk and Manziel in Vegas. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2014/05/johnny-manziel-rob-gronkowski-las-vegas-party

That's old news, man. Since when does ESPN stretch out a story for too long? It's not their way.

aP

When its detrimental to the Ravens, I ran into it looking for a name for someone and Memorial Day was yesterday lol

Speechless. Show this guy the door. Then show him the handle. and how to use it. It's actually pretty simple.

Frankly, I ain't even that mad about this. If his account of breaking the window by leaning on it is true, then I don't see a problem here. Had some drinks, took a cab, accidentally broke a window, and then later paid for the damages. No big deal to me. Least he didn't beat up some guy at a bar or knock out his girl. In the long run, this arrest is insignificant.

Serious, how many people here have been drunk and broken something? Thats what Taliaferro did. If you have ever been drunk and broken something, you should be fired.

It's just the fact that it's a misdemeanor charge and he paid for the window already. Like, total nonstory any other year

Still barely a story.

Just so happened to happen in a bad year

Exactly. It's actually funny to see people freak out about it and call for his head.

This is the real issue.  It's never a good look to get arrested, but this was a very minor incident.  It just so happened to garner this much attention because of a terrible track record of arrests this offseason.

I doubt anyone would actually care if this happened any other year. ESPN was actually talking about how it's only a story because of these other arrests

I got drunk once, walked into a screen door and broke the screen out of it.  I had to pay a couple hundred dollars to have it replaced.

Now... where's my arrest?  Where's my news story?

Seriously though, he might have avoided all this stuff if he just didn't leave after breaking the window. Paid for it upfront and all that. Most likely no one even knows about it.

That sounds reasonable. Williamsburg is hot as all hell right now, and night doesn't get any better.

I live in the area...it's not that hot.
