Is It Really Home Sweet Home For Flacco?

3 posts in this topic

The numbers don't lie, and the numbers show that Joe is MUCH better on the road than at home this season. This bodes well for the playoffs, as we are looking at the 6th seed and NO shot at a Home game come playoff time... However, my question is: Why do you all think Joe has struggled so much at home?

4 TD 7 INT at Home

9 TD 5 INT on the Road

I think it has to do with how he thrives under pressure, to be honest. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, of course. But, I can also see why we'd want him to win a couple more at home. ;)

It sort of dates back to his college career at Delaware, as well. In fact, one of his statistically-best passing days came on the road at DIV I-A Navy last year, in his so-called "breakout" game that got him noticed by more NFL scouts.

Three of the home games that account for 5 of his INTs: Steelers, Titans, Redskins which are respectively the 1st, 5th, and 6th ranked pass defenses in the league. Is any further explanation really necessary?
