The Flacco's Next Record To Break

516 posts in this topic

A little off topic, but I've always liked Kubiaks "10 different ways to run the same play" approach.

Marvin Lewis always said "Simple is always better" and it is so true. You can discuss and dissect X's and O's all day long but you have to stick to your bread and butter and make it work. Thats Gary's game plan and scheme and it's all about moving the chains.

In their 48 days until kickoff segment; the NFL Network just showed that Joe has been sacked a "franchise-high" 48 times last season.  The Ravens have to ball out this season to erase the bad memories of last season.  Pleeeeeeeease!  Smh!

Joe usually has one of the lower times holding onto the ball. I'm not sure what it was last year, but I think it was fairly low. That offensive line really needs to shape up

Which is interesting because when giving the opportunity Joe has one of the quickest releases in the NFL. But when you don't give him time or guys aren't asked to get open quickly, it's just a waste. This was probably my biggest issue with the old offense, asking Flacco to hold onto the ball instead of building an offense that allow him to quickly get rid of the ball which is one of his strengths.

The WCO should be a great move for everyone involved in the offense, I actually expect Joe to break the Franchise TD record(33) this year. I know that's a big jump from his career high of 25, but I think this system combine with Joe's talents will really cause a drastic improve in Joe's Yards, Completion % Tds and TD:INT ratio.

Exactly Mili. And that doesn't account for the times he was hurried.

These are the exact reasons why I will never understand all of the talk that "Joe regressed" or "Flacco needs to improve". How could anyone expect top notch performance with 0 running game and always having to run for your life?  Given the circumstances, I think he did remarkably well.
