The REAL Crockett Gilmore highlights

We said that about Clarence Moore and James Hardy too lol

True, but neither of those were as good at catching as Gillmore. Despite not being over athletic, he's very good had catching the ball away from his body.

He is my third favorite draft pick we had this year, and I think he will surprise people in the future.

If I'm drafting a small school guy this early, I want to see him dominate...

He does when given the opportunity

At first I hated this pick. Still think it was too high for him. Kubiak must've really lobbied for him.

After sitting on it and watching some videos, I'm content with it. I'm glad he added a blocking TE who should help out with whoever plays RT. Also added some size to our offense. I'm not expecting him to contribute much receiving but wouldn't be surprised if he ends up catching around 15-20 balls.

I'm trying to look past where we drafted some of these guys and just focus on how we got better as a team. I think Gilmore helps us.

Looks a lot like Heap

Nah.... Heap was an athletic, huge, country strong dude. Crockett doesn't have that athleticism, but if he can catch, I'll take it. I think 3rd round was a reach, but the team needed a dynamic blocking TE to not have holes in the offense. IMO, the other teams gobbled up the Ravens guys in the draft in AS-J or CJ Fied. Crockett Gilmore was a panick pick if you ask me, but I am rooting for him to be more than what I think his ceiling is.

Is it just me that sees this?

The news that was posted with highlights of our draft picks only showed one play of Crockett Gillmore. Here is a video that shows off his catching and blocking ability.

I can see him being the mid range, short distance TE while the other two are more deep threats. Either way, he can pose an issue for a defense if he gets one on one.

I'll take reliable and clutch pass catchers over Allstars any day!

An All-Star will likely deliver those and more, though...

I don't see deep threat in OD or DP. I see mid-range. And I see short distance and some seam routes for CG.

Why did you do that to us fans. LOL.... Not cool.

Hahaha, fair. Hopefully it's just a physical resemblance and not a pro comparison.

I agree, I can't see Gillmore taking many beyond 15 yards (yac excluded), and Pitta/Daniels aren't about to blow the top off opposing defences. Although in fairness, we do have arguably one of the best WR collections in the league from a pure deep ball perspective, so we don't need our TEs to make too many big plays.
