Calling Manziel A Backup

105 posts in this topic

Naw!  Not me!  I love Johnny's confidence and spunk!  The NFL is already filled with bland and watered-down personalities.  I love those cats that have a healthy attitude about themselves and their gameplay!  Trash-talk!  I don't care...especially if you can back it up!  This is a competitive sport!  But, I must say; I can't wait for Suggs and Dumervil to tune him up a few times!  Lol!

I like when guys are talkative, loud, and outgoing on the field, like Suggs, but I don't like the types like Sherman that try to tear everyone up. I also don't think Manziel's actions fall under trash talk. This is just really immature antics and an overblown ego, in my opinion

I am going way out on a limb here but I think "Johnny Football " is out of the NFL in five years or less.

I'll buy that.

My main concern with Manziel is off the field. I don't mind a guy who talks trash on the field as long as he backs it up and when Manziel has been on the field that is what he has done. We will have to see how committed he really is though, might take a bit for him to learn the mental part of the game and that is what separates people in this league.

Most people say Manziel will become a backup but honestly he will start we all knew that from the start when he got drafted..He might not be the Best rookie QB but he is amazing at what he does and we all know that the Cleveland Browns will be a lot better than they were last year now that they have Johnny Manziel on their team.

Yeah, not what I was referring to at all. There is confidence and then there is immaturity. Its clear to most where Manziel falls.

Gonna have to give a big fat NO to this one. His game does not translate to the NFL. And his (lack of) maturity will get him bounced from team to team and in 3-5 he's done. Just an opinion.

Wait, you don't think the NFL needs more party crazy druggie frat boys?  Sounds like gramps over here can't handle the [vulgarity removed] guys.

I wanna know what the word was now, usually it's "[profanity deleted]"

Great point but you never know how good the person is until we really watch him who knows he just might be the next Joe Montana

I never said that Johnny's actions were "trash-talking".  I just mentioned that I like cats that do that.  And overblown or not, we all have egos!  Johnny is young, popular and living his dream!  He'll change his tune once the Ravens defense smacks him around a few times!

Johnny is 21 so his being immature pretty much goes without saying. But I quoted you for the "cockiness" part cause I love cats like that as long as they can back it up!  Now with Johnny in the NFL, that remains to be seen!

Except very few (especially QBs) act like him. At 21, 31 and 41 years of age. He's a punk.

I don't think anyone's even noticed the trash talk. It's more the drunken inflatable swan escapades and the assumed drug use in the bathroom stuff that I've picked up on.
