Take A Chance on Blackmon?

I don't think Blackmon would be our guy and I don't think the price will be right but it is a small possibility if he is cut and doesn't generate much interest

Well that should tell you all you need to know about the guy.....he's too much of a loser for even the Jags.

And after he misses another year of football, he will have been out of the league for almost two years; I would say he would be rusty, but he never put in enough time on the field to acquire rust.

His career is probably over

It is a possibility that the Jags are too much of a loser for him and he is disgruntled and acting out or as i eluded to earlier he could just be another Rolando but at the same time he could be another Ricky Williams

After the craziness that just happened with Rolando McClain Im sure Ozzie doesnt want to go through anymore craziness that comes with players like Justin Blackmon. We would probably sign Blackmon than have the news break and Ravens fans would be excited/intrigued...than he would get a DUI, or fail a drug test or show up to play out of shape and put fourth minimal effort, or hell maybe even retire.

He has had probably 10 chances at redemption since college and continues to disappoint and fail off the field...why the hell would anyone think a 15th or 20th chance would make him FINALLY click and start being a model citizen? How many chances does this dude deserve? I say none...he got drafted top 10 and had a DUI the night or the week before the draft and had that big apology presser afterwards...thats rediculous. And than he continues to spiral out of control to this day.

A big no thanks to Justin Blackmon...

There's only one player I'd honestly take a flier on who's so far into the Drug Suspension Scale, and that's, sadly, Josh Gordon. Blackmon has the potential to be great, but he's not bringing that potential to the field. Couple that with being so far into the Drug Policy, and I can't justify having a spot for someone who is always on the verge of being gone for the season/indefinitely.

The only reason I'd take a flier on Gordon is due to what he's done on the field despite having similar drug policy issues as Blackmon. I'd feel better rolling the dice on a player with a suspension issue who's been bringing it all to the field and being near the top of the league despite horrendous quarterback play, than one who doesn't bring it all to the field and lingers in the middle of the pack despite similar horrendous quarterback play.

Blackmon brings it on the field when he is on it too, he has a couple 200 yard games as well. Josh Gordon had all the accolades but Blackmon is not too far behind on the talent level.

I'm not saying he doesn't have talent level, I just feel as if he doesn't always bring it to the field every game. Yeah, he had some huge games, but he's disappeared too. He could be dominate if he wanted to be, I just feel as if he doesn't always have that drive. Coupled with the suspension issues, and I'd take a pass.

Fair enough, I might chalk it up to a bad situation in Jacksonville.

A 24 year old man should be mature enough to accept responsibility when he does something stupid.

Yup. His problems started before Jacksonville anyways.

I thought he had a clean record at Ok State, but maybe the media allowed that to be ignored since he was taking pictures with sick kids.

Arrested in 2010 for DUI, nothing new for him
