The offensive line woes are greatly exaggerated.

you could use the argument that he never had a good number 2 in houston to justift targeting them too much. I'm sure if he had three good wideouts he'd use them plenty.

I guess we'll get to see this year because I think the combination of Steve Smith, Torrey Smith, Marlon Brown/Jacoby Jones is plenty good. Again, I'm not saying that I wouldn't have rather drafted a receiver. It stings to know that the Ravens missed out on Alshon Jeffrey, Keenan Allen (TWICE!), and Marqise Lee/Allen Robinson/Devante Adams/Martavis Bryant/Devin Street/Shaq Evans. Do you know how the receiver class looks for next year?

I also think that this will be a fairly pass heavy offense. People just assume it'll be run heavy, but he did say that he'd do as much as his quarterback can handle, and let's be honest, Joe is better than Schaub by miles.

I don't know much about the class next year. Have no college team so don't follow it, just watch what I can for potential targets.

I don't actually start watching anyone until the season is at least partially underway

Next year's draft class will be missing 90 of its best players, so we can start from there. We'll get many one-year wonders that will missout on 1or2 years of good college coaching, workouts, weight training, and overall development. All in all, not a good scenario going forward for the colleges or the NFL.

"Zutah, 28 in June, figures to replace Gino Gradkowski who was last in Pro Football Focus’ 2013 ratings for centers. Zuttah was 22nd in those same ratings." From 32nd to 22nd is marginally improved.

Well considering that Gino actually was ranked 35th (3 backups ranked better), I would say there is a solid improvement at the center position

Quandre Diggs and Kurtis Drummond are two guys I really like in next years class. B oth decided to stay for their senior year.

I haven't heard anything other than he "broke" it, which is so generic. I'm with you in the sense that I'd really like to know what type of fracture it was because it can make a huge difference.

Yeah. You need more details, such as the type of fracture, corrective tx, etc.

Do you think he could start from day one? I was talking to a buddy and said that if Urschel is ready, he could start at center given how insanely smart he is (I'd actually think he could make the line calls), have Zuttah at left guard, and put KO at right tackle.

I do think he could start from day 1. Urschel is a very good guard/center prospect. I love him. He's got great size too! And of course everyone knows he's a certified genius. We could do that. I'm not sure if we will start him day 1, though. We're conservative with rookies.

He might be able to come in and start right away, but I think it's more likely that he will sit a year first.

I agree. A year or two, actually.

That wouldn't be 9 if Hurst goes to IR, not that he will

I doubt Hurst does as well.

Look out for Urschel. Typical Kubiak Oliner, late Round pick and seems to fit perfectly into ZBS

Also it is said that he is super intelligent, that can only help playing OL.

I'm not saying he will be a superstar this year, but I can see him get time in heavy packages and secure a starting spot in 2 years

I can see it to,perhaps he will be groomed to be Yanda's successor? I could see him developing into a great guard with more development. Urschel and Yanda are the same height and about the same weight

I have no doubt there will be talent in next year's class but, I'm hoping, we'll be drafting much high next year and the dozen or so talented players will be gone b4 we're on the clock.

I want the opposite. I want to be drafting at 32 every year, I pray to God you mean trade up.

I doubt we draft Drummond now, since we just drafted Brooks, unless we decide to move Brooks back to CB. I think there's little chance we take Drummond, though I would love for him to come here.

I'm just saying I like him and he stayed for his senior year. But if we could get unadre, that would be awesome. i think he'l probably go early in roun, probably the second Cb taken after Ekpre-Olomu

that was Minnesota lets not get ahead of ourselves. He'll have an opportunity but I have no expectations for him to start.

KO left guard. And Wagner RT.

Hopefully we can get something out of David Mimms too

Watched him against Ohio State too, and he was great then too. He dominated. Maybe I'm a little optimistic but he dominated that level of competition like a man among boys.

I was thinking of Stefon Diggs for a second. Too bad the Ravens won't have a shot at him.

I'm looking at WR Strong, RB Gordon. WR Amari Cooper are guys I like a lot next year for us. I especially like Strong.

Why not? I say we have a shot. People said the same about Lee.

I expect Yanda to play some more years for us, so I am not really sure about the successor statement. I could see our starting Oline as being:

Monroe-Urschel-Zuttah-Yanda-KO

for the 2015 season

I doubt Hurst does as well.

I tried to find a video on it and google search for more details, but it was all just "broken" fibula. Still, he should be ready to practice. I can't recall him not getting clearance from doctors, but maybe no one bothered to even medically check him.

I like the idea of moving KO to tackle (I think he's vastly underrated there and overrated as a guard), and putting Zuttah at guard, I don't think there's a drop off. So, you essentially upgrade right tackle and stay even at guard. If Urschel could make the calls and bulk up some, he could come in and play center. Making the right calls and protections is the biggest thing to me.

Like I keep saying, I think he's ready to go now, and if he is, he's got the talent to, at the very least, be a swing tackle.

That is true. I just know that if Diggs keeps up with what he's doing, he could potentially be a very high pick. Anything could happen from now until the draft (if he decides to come out), but he's certainly a receiver I would love to snag.

After watching that offense for years, they always had a beautiful play action game. Shaub was able to throw some very high percentage passes to receivers who had great separation. Kubiak hasn't had a QB with an arm like Joe has .. Maybe ever. We will be passing more then people think, but it will be very calculated. Can the season start tomorrow?

One thing I love about our recent additions is that for once, we'll actually have competition on the offensive line. We'll actually have quality depth there. My biggest complaint about the Harbaugh era is an astounding lack of attention to acquiring quality depth and competition on the line. I think now, after seeing how much good depth pays off for teams like New England and Denver, Ozzie and Harbaugh are finally realizing how crucial it is to have capable backups on the line. Too often they just drafted a guy and gave him the job instead of drafting multiple guys and forcing competition.

I'm just glad to see the most important position group in the game finally being addressed. Right tackle is still unclear but we have quality depth and competition at all the interior positions.

Hah! Truth. With the running game we had the first 5 or 6 years with Flacco at QB ... Man, if Kubiak was our OC with that Defense .. It almost hurts to think what could have been with our Defense.

I think Jensen is the replacement for Yanda should anything happen. That's my opinion, though.

Yeah, I think Stefon should fall there.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Gordon. He's very high on my wish list. It depends on how Lorenzo does, but maaaaan! I LOVE Melvin Gordon. He looks like a better Jamaal Charles!

I think Urschel is more likely to play C with Zuttah at LG.

I like KO at RT, honestly. I wouldn't mind the OL being...

MONROE | WAGNER/HURST | ZUTTAH | YANDA | KO

or even...

MONROE | ZUTTAH | URSCHEL | YANDA | KO

That would be potentially very nice. Not sure if Urschel is ready, though.

I thinkw e role with Zuttah this year and maybe swap in Urschel at some point. I think we get Melvin or a player like him if Rice just sucks again this season. Taliaferro will probably always be a passblocker/short yardage guy.

The second lineup is how I envision it, but given that Hurst hasn't been described as very agile, I could see the first.

Possibly, but I expect this line up for the 2015 season and if Zuttah establishes himself as a C next year I can't see him change to G the following year
