It's crazy how little's amazing college catch radius didn't transfer to the nfl.... He drops everything...

Tandon Doss too, his hands where stickem glue in college? And in his rookie year preseason....but all of a sudden he was dropping sime passes

He has a huge battle to even get close to making the roster after we drafted 2 DL.

They all do, but thats common knowledge.

Well, the players in the NFL are bigger, faster, stronger - and they hit harder in general because of this fact. That could have a little bit of a factor in why this happens.

Even above all those corners we drafted...oh, wait.

Seriously though, good for him. I hope he is good enough to at least push Jackson and Brown to raise their game to another level. I still have flashbacks of the play after Jimmy got banged up against Pitt and they brought in Brown for a play and lines him up over Antonio Brown. Ben didn't even have to place the ball, he just looked once and lobbed it to that sideline for an easy fifteen. Chykie wasn't even in the picture.

Yep!  I think the tweet actually said "head over heels better than every other CB" but I could be wrong.  I'm going off of memory since I saw it early this morning.  Either way, I'll take it.  I still expect a vet signing at some point, but if Seamster can make it a tough decision, so be it.

I do think Chykie could step up, but I prefer not to count on that.

The guy has good size & speed. NFL draft reports his weakness: "was not a full-time starter. Marginal eyes and anticipation. Does not play to his size in the run game -- catches and stays blocked too long. Selective hitter. Marginal ball skills. Allows too much separation at the break point. Only one career interception. Does not sell out on the blitz." And Bottom Line:

A big, press-and-bail corner with a cautious approach to the game and very limited ball production.

We shall see.

Has a negative report ever come out of a rookie mini camp anywhere ever? lol. Just saying. Pump the breaks.

The way I remember it, Chykie saved the day.

Originally, I was most excited about signing Hurst, but after reading the articles and watching some games, I'm most excited about UDFAs Sammy Seamster, Avery Patterson, Deji Olatoye, and Tramain Jacobs. I'm most excited about Seamster, Patterson and Olatoye from what I've seen. Jacobs is an interesting prospect as well.

I think Patterson could very well beat out some of our safety depth players. He's a solid ST player and looks like a very good player on defense as well, with the versatility to play safety and CB. His size will likely limit him to the slot, but I don't think it'll matter. I think he has quite a bit of potential. I like how he plays bigger than his size, managing to stop runners pretty well. He even does a decent job of disengaging off of blocks. I think he'll likely beat out Omar Brown, honestly.

As for Seamster, I think we really like him and all reports I read speak highly of him. I think he will make the team as our #5 CB.

I also like what I've seen from Jacobs, who should be able to make the PS as a developmental CB. At his Pro Day, 7 bench press, 32.5 vertical jump, 9'6" broad jump, 4.5 40, 7.02 3-cone drill.

I think Seamster and Patterson are pretty much locks for the 53 unless something really crazy happens, but between Jacobs and Olatoye, I'm not sure because I didn't see a lot of ST from either player when I went back and tried to watch their games, which weren't easy to find in the first place (only found a few). Overall, I do think we could see a roster like this:

CB: Webb, Smith, Brown, Jackson, Seamster, Olatoye (6)

S: Elam, Brooks, Stewart, Miles, Patterson (5)

or

CB: Webb, Smith, Brown, Jackson, Seamster, Patterson (5)

S: Elam, Brooks, Stewart, Miles, Patterson (5)

Those are my best guesses. I really like Olatoye's size, speed and arm length, so if he can play, I'd hate to cut him for the Seahawks or Jaguars to claim him. Hopefully, he can play ST well enough, as he'll need to do that to make this roster.

And then there's the good. I'll give him props when they're due. If he keeps making plays like that, we'll be just fine. I was referring to a much earlier play.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that they're locks, but I do think they have a good chance with how the roster is currently constructed.  I don't see a way that we don't add a veteran CB to the mix at some point, which would put both Seamster and Patterson on the bubble.  Both guys have value in that both are able to play safety, which could nudge Brown/Trawick/Levine/Miles off the roster.  Remember that they're still half speed in shorts.

I'm not much of a fan of Jacobs, and it doesn't even sound like he was in the same breath as the other 3 at rookie minicamp.  Again, still half speed in shorts.  However, he was pretty brutal in college.

Ahh. Gotcha. Looks like a lack of experience type of mistake. Hopefully he develops more this year.

I think they are. Seamster and Patterson gave both shown a lot so far, so I see no reason why they wouldn't continue to show promise. I feel pretty good about them to be honest. Jacobs has potential, which is why I like him as a PS candidate. I don't think he'll make the roster.

I think we could grab a veteran CB but at the same time, it depends. There are a few guys I like on the market. I think we'll know for sure on June 1st. I'm interested in seeing who gets cut from teams. That'll determine a lot. I think it's possible we could carry 11 players in the secondary

I don't see them as anywhere close to a lock.  It's way too early to say that.  Seamster has apparently looked good, but they've only had a few practices in shorts against a whole bunch of other rookies and tryout players.

Okay, well, I do and you don't. I think we've pretty much established that.

I just don't think any UDFA can be classified as a lock in May.

As I explained, I think they are. Patterson showed a lot of promise and versatility not here but also in college. His ability to play ST, combined with his versatility to play safety and CB, makes me feel comfortable as a lock in my mind. Again, this is my opinion. I think he's a lock.

As for Seamster, I think he's a lock because of the buzz he had before the draft. If he's cut he'll likely get picked up by another team. Furthermore, we need someone to groom as Brown is likely to be gone next year.

I think we could sign a veteran CB, but even then, I think it's likely we'll keep Patterson and Seamster.

Ravens are signing undrafted rookie running back Fitz Touissant, according to a source

Don't really know anything about him, but I'm glad there is more RB competition.

He's one of those do-it-all type of players.  He doesn't do anything particularly well, but he does everything.  Another north-south guy for Kubiak to work with.  Don't expect much though.

Yeah, I don't really expect him to make the team, but you never really know who will light it up in preseason.

Also, Aaron Wilson gave more information in an article:

Toussaint played at Michigan, rushing for 648 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior last season. He caught 18 passes for 203 yards for the Wolverines last season.

In 2012, he suffered a season-ending leg injury and was limited to 530 yards and five touchdowns.

Toussaint rushed for 1,041 yards and nine touchdowns in 2011 when he earned All-Big Ten Conference honorable-mention honors.

The 5-foot-9, 204-pounder ran the 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds at his campus Pro Day workout and bench pressed 225 pounds 24 times.

He probably won't make the 53 roster cuts....

Most of these guys won't, what's your point?...

tossuaint had a great soph year, but struggled his last two years with scheme changes and injuries. Good sign IMO tho, he can do a little of everything
