[News] Eisenberg: League Drafts Offense, Ravens Draft Defense

312 posts in this topic

We have taken some players that are good players, potentially great players, but the success of this draft like all other drafts will be determined in February. By then we'll see if our team will be the team that is a winning team.

Well it has been interesting so far. The NFL analyst have us in the top ten for draft grade. We must be doing something right even if our fans don't agree with all our picks. I actually agree with the selection of defensive players first. We took the off season to build our offense up by resigning players and adding guys like Steve Smith and Owen Daniels. We also signed our LT for years to come and kept Jacoby Jones. Joe Flacco will have to use all these weapons and move the offense.

The Ravens are drafting for the long term when Brady and Peyton are out of the league and we can make a couple more good runs. 5% of NFL rookies start, that's 1-2 players per round this year. Its not realistic to think any of these guys will make a serious impact on anything but special teams next year. Trust Ozzie.

who comes up with these random stats?

i can think of at least 26 rookies that started last year, and that is a lot more than 5% of 254 picks. please dont just make up numbers because they sound cool

I think it's hilarious listening to all of these wannabe GMs on here who actually think they know more then people who have made a living their whole life in football.

i think its hilarious that people actually think you have to spend your whole life in football to understand it. Its a game (that even elementary school kids play), not quantum physics.

By the time we pick in Rd 4, BPA will be a QB. Let's see if that matches Oz's board. I hope we get Katherine Webb.

Yeah I guess we drafted Peter Boulware, Jamie Sharper, Chris Mcallister, Todd Heap, Ed Reed, Haloti Ngata, Joe Flacco, Ray Rice, Michael Oher, Terrel Suggs, Lardarius Webb to red shirt one year and eventually become developmental players. No I don't want to be like Cleveland I want to keep being the Ravens and the dominance we have sustained in the draft. Last year's draft sucked and I let it slide because we won the super bowl and didn't have time to prepare but this year with not making the playoffs and having the draft pushed back there are no excuses. And the thought of drafting AJ Mcarron next makes me want to turn off my tv.

Pick 126.. Getting closer..

I want Brandan Coleman WR, 6"6 225 not explosive or top end speed like Bryant had.. But the body and everything else to be a perfect long term no.2 to Torrey big redzone targets can run the westcoast route tree which we run with kubiak now

Everyone needs to realize that we were one quarter away from making the playoffs last year. With joe throwing the ball to the other teams! So if our defense this up coming year is air tight and lights out. Also if our special teams are dominate. Then the offense just needs to be able to not turn the ball over and get tucker close enough to kick feild goals. Dont ever forget defense can score touchdowns too. Getting to and winning Our first superbowl was due to defense. The "ray"vens were built on defense and that is the way it was and always will be. They will find some players to help the offense down the road and any production we get fro joe and the offense next year will just be iceing on the cake...

You realized, that worked once in 2000 and than we spend 8 years trying to rebuild the team and failed, while making the playoffs just any other year! The whole reason we turned into legit playoff contenders and made the playoffs 5 times in a row is because we got Flacco and the offense started to get good.

I can't believe you posted "Don't ever forget defense can score touchdowns too". Real recipe for victory right there. That's sarcasm in case you didn't get it. -_-

Great just great...the Browns just got Pierre Desir. So Terrence West and now Desir. While we got Crocket Gilmore. What a joke. I guess we love Chykie and Asa. We shouldn't skip a beat with the departure of Corey Graham.
