[News] Eisenberg: League Drafts Offense, Ravens Draft Defense

312 posts in this topic

The Ravens are drafting for the long term when Brady and Peyton are out of the league and we can make a couple more good runs. 5% of NFL rookies start, that's 1-2 players per round this year. Its not realistic to think any of these guys will make a serious impact on anything but special teams next year. Trust Ozzie.

I thought for sure we would draft offensive line in one of the first two rounds. I guess Ricky Wagner and Jah Reid must be read to go.

I'm not saying that the picks were bad, but we needed to get Terrence West. There are no more good running backs left...

I agree with you but we had a dilemma because brooks was really the last impact safety left so we rolled the dice hoping tre mason or terrance west would fall to our 3rd comp pick and very unfortunately they did not .

@Verified, slow your role. Yes I was upset to, that they passed on Latimer and the last couple really big time WRs. However if they take one next pick, he could still impact this team this year and future years.. These guys Martavius Bryant Beast WR Clemson the best remaining, Brandon Coleman WR Rutgers, Bruce Ellington South Carolina WR, or maybe someone like Wake forest product Welker type Campanaro WR,

I'm not sure about all you guys but I'm excited that we finally have a guy who's got a good shot at winning DROY . Cj Mosley go grab 100 tackles and win DROY ..........

I think it's hilarious listening to all of these wannabe GMs on here who actually think they know more then people who have made a living their whole life in football. Their ignorance is not worth your time debating them because it will get you nowhere but aggravated.

I know it doesn't mean much but I just watched Teddy Bruchski say he thinks Mosley will win DROTY.

WR is not that big of a need . Steve smith and a healthy Dennis pitta and Owen Daniels will give our passing attack a big boost . WE needed a RB more simply because kubiaks entire offense revolves around his rushing attack and we have pierce a non every down back who's a little I jury prone and ray rice who hasn't looked like himself in a while . There's no doubt we would of taken tre mason or terrance west with our 3 rd comp pick but they were taken ahead of us and that was gut wrenching .

I still want to see Dozier, or David Yankey both terrific OGs picked or Antonio Richardson OT, Cyril Richardson OT/G.

If anything for depth.. Jah Reid, is a bum, Penguin shipley is a bum, then what happens if KOs back acts up again..

These guys are good starting players maybe not HOF players but either is Zuttah.

I dont believe in blow by city Wagner like Harbs does.

i stopped watching the draft on the first day after that disappointing pick. its hard to get excited when you know your teams gonna have another year with a disappointing mediocre offense. We draft for depth at every position on the team except WR smh and i hate it

BPA...ok.

But it's pretty frustrating that our first three picks of this year's draft were the same positions that our first 3 picks of last year's draft were also. Oh well, at least we know that if 20 of our defensive line players go down to injury, we have another 20 ready to back them up. Unfortunately, if any of the starters on the O Line, WRs, or RBs go down...

RB is not as big of a need as people think. Ray Rice will be gone but not forever...Fans treat it like he is never coming back. I'm more so interested in how Kubiak and Flacco will work together because Kubiak's scheme revolves around the RB. Ray Rice battled injury and had an inconsistent O-Line. He is still one of the leagues best, but Joe Flacco and Ray Rice will suffer if this O-Line problem does not get fixed first and foremost. Screw the WR, RB, draft picks. If you don't have time in the pocket or no holes to run through. Good QB's and RB's are useless... Draft an O-lineman.

I love the fact that our first three picks were critical components of the last couple of National Championship teams. Not only are they talented, they also know how to win.

As we saw with the last Super Bowl played defense still wins championships. The Ravens however and us fans have to hope that this oline protects Joe and opens lanes because if they do not we will see another 8-8 season or worst with no playoffs. The Ravens oline will make or break this coming season for this football team IMO.

Relax fans! Ravens will do what they always do, BPA in the draft and then next Tuesday they will select UDFA's that knock your socks off. Do you like Tucker? Smile and eat a crab cake!

Andre Williams is gone. I thought we should have selected him at 99. Nickname is Edgar (Allan Poe). If we take an RB now,who is left? Ka'Deem Carey from Arizona, then nobody I can think of...

According to NFL, the Ravens are one of 6 teams to pass with flying colors on the draft so far. That goes to show many people lack understanding on what is going on, including me. I`ll trust in OZ of course but still ... ya know ? lol :) Here is NFL link on rating teams so far. - http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000349134/article/2014-nfl-draft-second-day-quicksnap-grades-for-all-32-teams

Forget all the best available rankings (Kiper, Mayock, etc.). This is when we draft the Kyle Jusczyk, John Simon, Louis Kapron Moore, Brandon Williams of the world. It started last night with Crocket Gilmore. We only draft players that we have personally scouted. And after we pick them the fans are like who the heck is that. And based on the performance of Williams, Jusczyk, Simon, Moore, and Marc Anthony who didn't make the team we the fans should question these so called scouts and their picks. Picking Crocket Gillmore when Pierre Desir was still on the board was dumb. And to make matters worse the Steelers just took Martavis Bryant (one of the best available).

of course, once people actually start playing and they revisit this a year from now, most of these will drop significantly because they're pretty much meaningless now; but if this makes you feel better about things, enjoy.

If you take a player from the draft and attempt to plug them in the first year as a starter, 9 times out of 10 you ruin them and their confidence and maybe even their ability. How many 22 year olds you know you want to make head of your company??? These guys gel emotionally later on after mentoring by other players and coaches and while their physical abilities are still intact. If you draft for starters like some teams do (Cleveland, Oakland, etc) you get what you see year after year with them. You want the Ravens to be like Cleveland? The management of the Ravens is such a brain-trust of wisdom that we all need to relax and let them do their thing. Suffice it to say there are players in the wings we don't even know about yet. After the draft teams will make trades before the beginning of the training and pre-season. The draft is for next year and the year after, not necessarily for this year.
