[News] Round 2: Ravens Draft DT Timmy Jernigan

BPA Always. Cant see in front, need to see down the road. Some drafts when you are picking 30th, guys like these are off the board. We got lucky. Yeah, we need a centerfielder and a solid rb, but I learned my lesson when the Colts took Austin Collie ahead of us when we needed a wideout, and we then took L. Webb. I was puzzled at the time, but not now

The Jernigan pick is horrible! The guy quit on his team and took himself out of the National Championship Game! Horrible! Ozzie is losing it...

Ozzie continues to try to outsmart himself and pick players where we don't need them. This annoys me every year. We have Ngata, B Williams, Canty, Kapron Lewis, and others and yet we draft another DT so one of them sits on the bench. To me, that's wasting a pick at a position you can wait on, while the position of need is weak and vulnerable. Thumbs down on round 2.

what the heck! We pass on Moses and Amaro. Moses a T who was ranked 35th overall, and who could have started right away. And Amaro, a pass catching TE. Instead we draft a guy at a position we have guys at. I understand, Ngatas contract situation next year. But we drafted Williams last year. That's 2 picks in a row that we passed on immediate starters for guys we won't need for 2 years. And both guys we drafted are injury prone. The Jets picked right after us both times and got Pryor to play FS in round 1, and Amaro to play TE in the 2nd. Unbelievable!

They picked the best player I was actually surprised we got first round talent in the second round. He was projected as high as near top 12 a couple months ago.

So its looking like no wideout this year, at least one that ive heard of. I doubt Moncrief or Landry will make it to us in the third.

Right now on paper the Ravens look well behind Browns and Bengals in Talent. That is undeniable. If Manziel can add anything, Ravens are the 3rd most talented team in AFC North. Who was the last Pro bowl player the Ravens drafted in the 1st round? Ngata in 2006. That's 8 years Ravens fans. Passed on FS Ha Ha and Pryor while adding nothing in free agency. Team will trhow deep on Ravens early and often. Offense couldn't run, block, or get open and you draft a DT in the 2nd round. I love the Ravens, but call it like I see it. Missed opportunity.

Football smarts is being lost on Ravens fans these days.

Ravens always wanted to kick ngata back out to defensive end

Now with Jones gone there is a End spot open. Maybe we put Jerrnigan at end with ngata and have Williams inside .

If you don't find that a scary 3-4 line then there is no pleasing ppl.

BTW Omar Brown is up for free safety like everyone wanted now they wanna draft another guy , geez

Im cool with omar if we dont get a safety just saying

Ravens fan since '96 , I know how to have faith in my team

Again. You are thinking this team is going to only address the positions it needs for this year. If you did that and went by position you would get an 8-8 team at best instead of picking the best player available. This is probably the steal of the second round for every team. Ravens can address with FA and trades before the season but if you think for a moment the Ravens didn't need a DL in the draft you are wrong. Ngata and Canty are aging and I can't count how many times both those guys were on the injury list last season.

No surprise as we like to rotate our D-Linemen, and this will keep the D-Line fresh for the 4th quarter in games....

Not crazy about this pick. I wanted WR (Latimer) or OT. Latimer is now a Bronco. I guess Cody's days are numbered. We have desperate NEEDS at OT and S and RB and WR. This better work out because the only 2nd rounders that made it was Ray Rice and Torrey Smith.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Courtney Upshaw and K.O. were both 2nd round picks that have "made it".

As much as I agree we've chosen two great players, I'm just not sure we are addressing our needs. BPA....no. Maybe w/later rounds, not this early. Just what did we draft last years' #2 and #3 picks for? Now we draft the same (basic) positions again. Not a fan of these picks. Love the players, not the picks.

Dont delude yourself into thinking we got a top 12 prospect in Jernigan

Stop it. We did that last season. Remember Stokely and Clark? How did that work out? We needed to address the offensive needs this year - baring that we needed to addres FS. We've done neither.

Jarvis Landry is gone. Are there any wideouts for Joe to throw to. How bad does this offense have to get to get some kind of help?

How many pkayoff appearances have we had in those 8 years? We also have a super bowl. And then there are teams that have 5-6 probowlers and don't make the playoffs. The probowl is a joke. We are building to make another 5-6 year run at the playoffs.
