[News] Top Ravens' Options In Round 2

257 posts in this topic

I personally think we should go after T Morgan Moses if he's there. If he's not there then Terrence Brooks is our guy. If neither are there I seriously think we grab Jace Amaro and let Pitta play more Slot WR. Still could pick up RT Cyrus Kouandjio in the 3rd.

I know Mosley wasn't a sexy pick, I'm still confused because Aurthur Brown hasn't really seen the field but I truly think there are safeties left with immediate impact skills. Mosley has leadership skills and a motor no other 1st rounder has! How can you be upset about picking the captain on defense of the number one team in the Nation for several years.

I came on here last night and I could not believe a lot of people didn't like Mosley. I was caught off guard because I thought he would go higher. People who think inside linebacker is not a need needs to wake up. Arthur Brown has not proven anything. Bynes is not even average. Mosley can turn into a great product. Many compare him to Kuechly (can't spell it and too lazy to search it up) from the Panthers. Of course secondary and offensive line are bigger needs but Ozzie picked the best player that is still a need. I knew Ward would go in the first round even when people said second round I wish we could have traded back and got him but Mosley is a solid pick. Now the Ravens need to draft an OT or WR in the 2nd round. I would say safety but the only safety I would be interested in is Ed Reynolds. I see more talent at WR and OT in the second round. The Ravens can pick up a safety with the rest of their cap in FA after the draft if need be. I don't think people understand what Mosley brings to the table. Can't forget Daryl Smith, Terrell Suggs, and Elvis Dumervil are all aging of course Mosley will be an inside linebacker but it was smart for Ozzie to get the middle of the defense that much younger and talented.

Red zone target Austin Seferian-Jenkins gets tagged at 47. Ravens struggled mightily in the RZ last year, at 6'6" ASJ brings the vertical threat and the blocking.

I highly agree I can see him helping in the pass game. When the Ravens say they need a receiver it doesn't mean they have to be a wide receiver. The way that Kubiak will be putting Pitta in the slot and a lot of tight end sets, along with bringing Juice from the backfield as a target a third tight end behind Pitta and Daniels would be great for that red zone threat. Think of sending Pitta out wide with Daniels and ASJ in the tight end slots on the 5 yard line.

Then I believe the Ravens could get the other Tennesee tackle that no one talks about I can't remember his name I believe it is Richardson. Solid in run blocking but needs work on pass protection. He should be available in the third round when we pick and then get a WR or RB with our comp pick whatever tickles Ozzies' pleasure.

DeCosta said Mosely would have been the pick if they picked at 10. This could mean he was rated higher than Lewan, who was selected after 10, and Martin. Seems like the Ravens got their guy at 17. Mosely is a defensive leader who also is a 'film junkie'. Sounds good to me. The Ravens will need a defensive leader once Daryl Smith is gone and it appears the Ravens got him yesterday. Mosely and Brown appear to be the future ILBs for the Baltimore Ravens.

Don't forget both of these guys are good coverage LBs which will only become more important in the NFL, which has become a passing league. This pick may not fill an immediate need, but I believe it was the best available player on the Ravens board which will add depth this year AND fill a need in the very near future.

Just sit back, relax, and let Ozzie do what he does best in adding quality talent that will push the team into the playoffs for years to come. Enjoy the excitement of the draft and trust Ozzie.

I had been hoping for Juwann James in the second. I posted that before the draft and got lit up by some who said taking him mid-2nd round was a reach ... If mid-2nd was a reach ... how about mid-1st round?

I want one of the offensive weapons in round 2.

But my gut says Oz will go Line. I mean with Ngata uncertain future and departure of Art Jones, we still not sure if B. Williams can replace Ngata as a starter 100% of the time we will see. But my gut says if HAGEMAN or NIX, maybe Tuitt fell Oz would swipe them up over a Latimer or Lee. Only thing he would take over them is a higher ranked Lineman, maybe Bitonio, Kuandijo, or Moses depending on how they fall.

Ozzie doesnt make a pick because someone else might pick them. He chooses the best value at each pick

Anything other than a WR and RB in these 2 rounds and i'll be disappointed. i wouldn't waste time gambling on these safeties and tackle. we can find tackle depth later. I'd be looking at Hyde, West, Hill, Robinson, Matthews, Latimer, etc

1. I think 2nd round would be far too early to grab a RB, and I probably wouldn't take one until Saturday.

2. Saying we need tackle depth implies that we have a starter at the position already, which nobody can say with certainty. At best, we will be starting somebody who is unproven at the position.

I do agree that I expect a WR to be taken on Friday.

I would look for the Ravens to look at the best available player in the 2nd round while considering OT, S, and WR.

Offensive Line

Morgan Moses OT

Joel Bitonio OT/G

Cyrus Kouandijo OT

David Yankey G

Xavier Su'a-Filo G

Safety

Terrance Brooks S

LaMarcus Joyner S

Ed Reynolds S

Wide Receivers

Marquise Lee WR

Cody Latimer WR

Jordan Matthews WR

Lee will likely be gone within the first few picks tonight. There should be some good Offensive Lineman available and I think one of - if not both - Latimer and Matthews will be there as well. Morgan Moses or one of these receivers would be a nice addition although I wouldn't be surprised if the Ravens simply pick the highest available player regardless of position like DT Ra'Shede Hageman, DT Timmy Jernigan, DE Stephon Tuitt, DE/OLB Demarcus Lawrence, OLB Van Noy if one of these players is available. Either way, it looks like a good player will likely fall to the Ravens in Round 2.

I am hoping for a TE/WR in the 2nd round like ASJ or Lee/Matthews (if any of those fall) Latimer can be added to that list. Then get a tackle in the third round along with possibly a safety (Ed Reynolds if he falls he reminds me of Ed Reed)

Id wait on RB til 3rd or later, NFL doesnt value them unless its like AP or LT. You could likely get West, Williams or Storm Johnson Comp 3 pick or later.

I to want to see Latimer, Lee, Seferian Jenkins etc in rnd 2

Landry,Allen Robinson, Federowiscz rnd 3 or

Maybe they fall far enough to use the comp3 Yankey, Gabe Jackson, Antonio Richardson

Rnd 4 West

R4 Comp Vereen//Reynolds

That would be great to get one of those receivers in the 2nd round. I also agree the Ravens an get someone of the offensive line in the third round like Antonio Richardson who will be just as affective as someone in the second round. Get that receiver now or that tight end (I do like the idea of Jenkins behind Daniels for a year and then having him be the #2 next year if he pans out). RB we better not draft until the fourth round. Safeties are rare now so I wouldn't be surprised if Baltimore just tries to trade for a safety after the draft or try to sign one. Ed Reynolds looks okay but not amazing. I still think the 49ers got the best safety in the draft. 2nd round get Joe a weapon. Round 3 get a O-lineman and look who's left at safety. Break.

What about Kyle VanNoy? Great player. He's going to be the next Luke Kuechly.

Might as well use all eight of our draft picks on inside linebackers so no other teams have them huh? Good idea then we can trade them and get them for more! Lmao I think our linebackers are good now after Mosley. I bet in next years draft the Ravens look to a DT and OLB early because of the aging Ngata, Suggs, Dumervil, and Canty.

If Kouandjio falls to us and we take him, the Bama bashers will blow a gasket.
