At least we aren't eagle fans. They just draft a LB that i haven't even heard of in the 1st rd. So be happy with who we have ppl. The guys a Raven and will be for a long time.

Two back-to-back 100-tackle seasons. He has great work ethic and plays hard. He plays like a Raven. He gets to work next to and learn from Smith for the next few years. I think he can be a starter for a decade. Excellent pick. Instantly makes the Ravens a better team.

You know... it's one of those times when everyone knows better than the ones who do it... ;)

Im not saying the Player is a Bad player, I just believe we needed to go for our needs 1st ( We got enough of them) and that ILB could have waited til next year. we drafted 2 ILB last yr, dont forget the whiteboy from Ohio State i believe it was John Simon, he is listed as a OLB but is a versitile LB, and Courtney Upshaw is the other Soon to be Bust OLB from Alabama if something dont happen with him soon

I absolutely Agree, I hope he works out as well, But the only thing that is gonna help that is being able to Sure up the Back end of our Defense. I have always liked Omar Brown (reminds me of Ed Reed, always around the ball) But if we can snag Derek Ward that would really help, We still need some help on the Offensive side of the ball

A first round pick, a second round pick and a 4 year contract just to sure up the ILB position. That's alot of investments into a part of the defense, that is losing importance in todays league. If Mosley can be that leader of the defense, then I'll be glad we picked him, but I was already grinding my teeth last year, when we passed over Keenan Allen for Arthur Brown and hoped, that atleast we would've "solved" the ILB position with that pick. I hope it's understandable, that I am a bit upset about the pick. I'm still gonna cheer for everyone wearing that Ravens uniform ofcourse.

If anybody is happy about this pick I don't even know what to say. I am honestly nothing but disappointed with this first-round selection. We are not going to make it to the playoffs with darian nobody at FS. There is a giant void in our backfield that needs to be filled. You can try to justify picking an inside linebacker all you want but it is not a position of need. I understand Baltimores mentality, and I respect it; "pick the best man available." But when you have a legitimate position of need you cannot simply ignore it. Picking the best man available is for teams who do not absolutley need a FS.

If you think a rookie can come in and play FS then you don't know NFL football (Ed Reed had the most dominating defense in the history of the NFL in front of him). Pryor is probably better suited to play SS, that leaves Ha-Ha, who in my opinion is the OVERRATED Alabama player. Yes, Saban's system puts out players but Mosley was the QB of that defense. Who knows, maybe the Ravens have Ward or another safety rated higher than Dix.

Anyway, I'll side with the Ravens FO with a Hall of Fame player and Hall of Fame GM than some guy on the message board (myself included).

mosley was the best player available. our front 7 is now the best in the league. you guys gotta stop complaining. mosley was the best pick, he was the better player. we will draft a safety later, there are a lot of good players excpected to be drafted second round. mosley is the perfect player to stop manziel. he has potential to be face of the defense

Jimmie Ward or Deone Buccannon those safety's would be dominant in the Nfl Ozzie lets pick one of them tomorrow maybe trade up to make sure we get one of them well Calvin Pryor is good I don't think he would be good with the Jets than the Ravens if he was with the Ravens he will be a better player.

I really don't know why people are surprised about this pick either, if he was on the boards and the big 4 lineman were gone, Mosley was going to be a Raven. I'm excited about this.

My initial reaction was terrible but i'll hold off til the end of tomorrow to make a proper judgement. Considering there was no trade back option (Thats what Oz said) and Clinton Dix is far from a sure thing, it might not be that bad. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day though.

@gek - elam is a strong safety, he was uncomfortable and fairly unsuccessful as a free safety last year. he needs to be moved to his true position. no reason we shouldn't have traded down from 17, other players that would have made sense: pryor, clinton-dix, darqueze dennard, trade down a little ways and grab stephon tuitt or morgan moses, we had options. Instead we have another alabama player that has some pretty serious injury concerns, he's been banged up his whole career. Look through our last couple drafts and let me know how much impact most of those players have had. 2012 - upshaw, average run stopper no pass rush presense - osemele, solid player as a rookie may or may not come back strong from a serious back injury, pierce can't stay healthy, gradkowski ranked as worst center in the league last year, christian thompson not with the team, asa jackson can't stay off the substances, streeter not with the team, deangelo tyson was a good value as a 7th rounder. 2013 - elam played okay at free safety, gave up a lot of big plays, belongs at strong safety, arthur brown we've apparently decided can't start with the mosely pick, brandon williams has potential and the rest of the picks have had 0 impact.

this is the kind of stuff that builds an 8-8 team or worse. ozzie has done great things for this organization but the fact of the matter is in recent years we have not drafted well at ALL. heck in 2010 there's only ONE player left on our roster. We aren't developing talent the way we used to, and I don't care how much people deny it and harp on how great ozzie is, we aren't gettin it done right now

With 5 Picks left in the 1st, there have been some strange picks by teams. Bortles early, Barr early, jawuan James way early, couple others.. Im kind of shocked though only half of the projected WRs have gone(Evans,Watkins,Cooks,Beckham)

There goes Deone Buchanan... We better get JIMMIE WARD

I still really want an answer for OT.

Its still only the 1st round in a deep draft class. Don't worry, our FO will get their OT.

Going after our needs the last few years is also why we haven't had the greatest success.  Need over talent = average or bust players.  We got the best talented player at 17.

i must admit not only ami i disgusted with this pick by our fo, but with our fans for just acting as if its a good pick or makes any logical sense.. ok. we just re signed smith for fours yrs, and we just draft brown in the second round of last years draft.. now im not against drafting a liner backer in this draft, BUT IN THE FIRST RD? come on guys, this move was illogocal and we all know it. only positions that made logical sense in the first round goes with out saying, o line, wr, fs. simple. who in the world on this forum was even talking about mosley, be honest. and this isnt a knock to that brotha bc hes probably a great talent. but think, where does he fit? ab couldve started last year and did, and was prodcutive, so we know chances are hes starting next to smith this year.. soooooo.. where does that leave leave mosley, special teams? or occcasional 2 or 3 down linebacker until we cut smith.. i love oz like the next, but im not going to let you pee on my leg tell me its rain and accpt it. this was illogical given the talent at positions we needed to fill were on the board .. my guess, a punter or water boy next round

I honestly thought Khairi Fortt from Cal was better than Mosley... but I'm not the one interviewing these guys and studying film after film on these guys. We're basically watching highlight film on these guys. We've got a lot of armchair GM's on here that are just repeating what these "experts" on television say. Calling for Ozzie's job? Seriously?

I love how all these fair weather RAVENS fans are hating. I love the pick, BPA, in ozzie I trust. Just like Jonathan Ogden...he wasnt a need pick but look how he turned out for us

We just won a SB 2 years ago. Are people throwing that aside already?

Who cares? It's drafting Pro-Bowl players that tells the story, apparently... just look at the sea of pro-bowlers the Broncos or the Pats drafted the last couple of years!

Im happy we got Mosley and I am sure he will make our defense a lot better, but I'm pretty bummed out that Bucannon and now Kelvin Benjamin are off the board...

So, you're implying you know better than our entire draft team?

Please, tell us why.

I dont understand how anyone could be upset with the pick. Mosley has not even stepped onto the field wearing purple and black yet and people are judging him already. I wanted a Safety or O-lineman to be the pick but I am happy with Mosley because Oz and his staff know more about football and the Ravens than I do. These guys have watched film and talked to this young man in person. So I say wait to pass judgement and welcome in the newest member of the Raven family.

I am disappointed in this pick. You had both of the top Safetys on the board, and you go ILB. 1st, we didn't need an ILB. We just signed D. Smith to a Multi-year deal, and we just drafted A. Brown last year with a 2nd round pick. I guess Brown's not starting, right? We have 3 years to find an ILB, we didn't need one in the 1st round now. 2nd, best player available, no. Even if he was, Dix and Pryor were right behind him. Either one of them would have definitely been a starter. You have to find a common ground between need and best player available. 3rd, this pretty much sets our team. Now Wagner is our starting RT, and Stewart is our starting FS. I don't think a 2nd or 3rd round guy will start over them. The only guy that could save this pick is Jimmy Ward. If we can get Ward in the 2nd round, he could come in and start at FS. But he's an early 2nd guy and probably won't be there, and I don't see us trading up. The last 3-4 drafts have been busts overall. We use to draft Pro Bowl guys every year. What happened Ozzie? Time will tell, but right now I'm upset and mad.
