The Vent Thread 2014 Draft

889 posts in this topic

Sorry but I have never bought this garbage of letting a vet "Teach" a rookie, it rarely if ever actually happens like that, because honestly who wants to train their replacement? IMO unless you can land a Ray lewis, Kuchely,Willis, or another top player at ILB you can find talent much later, as evidenced by the many UDFA that have come to Baltimore and thrived at ILB ( scott, mcclain, bynes, ellerbe).

Scott was the exception not the norm.  Bynes is a plug, McClain played like he was an UDFA, zero impact plays.  Ellerbe would have been a 2nd or 3rd rounder but he was hurt and had character issues at Georgia.  Ellerbe's talent was never in question.

I for one am happy I don't have to watch guys like McClain or Bynes play ILB anymore.  We'll actually have guys that can play the position at a high level.

I know I'm gonna get negged for speaking against the infallible ozzie, but I don't know why he's strictly going BPA in this draft.

Going on record saying I don't like it but Of course I'm hoping for the best. Anyone got something to convince me Jernigan was a good pick? I like how we added depth and beefed up the d line but couldn't we get a player like him later on? I heard he offers no pass rush and I can't get behind drafting a DL this high if that's the case with all these other pressing needs.

One thing I've learned over the years is to wait until the end to vent. Therefore I will wait, but I'm scratching my head. Seeing the Jets take Amaro with the next pick hurt, though.

I bet that is what is happening, Jernigan is a 3 technique, and our starting linebacking core is now Brown, Smith, Mosley. Canty and Ngata inside rotate Williams and Jernigan. McPhee and Tyson go to DE behind Suggs and Dumervil, its perfect

Liked the Mosley pick , not too fond of this second round pick

Need Oline , FS, running back , reciever ,etc

Don't see any holes being filled

I like both picks to be honest. Simple BPA and high rated players.

Safeties available don't impress me at all. I like Brock Vereen maybe 3rd or 4th pick. Get West with comp pick.

Wagner/Jensen and cuts happens all the time will be easy to get OT. still a few good OL available. I like Moses, Richardson could develop ok but not a Ravens pick.

Yeah a 6'5'' Red Zone/3rd down target would of been nice for us

I think Daniels will be better than people think.

I loved the Mosley pick even thought I'm the guy screaming for offense every year.  I heard Ray Lewis put in a good word for his leadership and work ethic and it sold me on him.  I don't feel the same about the second round, but it all depends on who we get with our 2 picks in the third to take the bitter taste of the second out of my mouth.  Failed drug test is a "red flag" to me.  Too short for NT, too.  So, we have how many guys at NT?  I didn't know that the NT can keep your QB from getting knocked on his *** on every other play.  Oh well, Ozzie is 1 for 2 in my book.

F! I wanted latimer bad

And we could have had him but no, we had to take yet another D lineman. I mean, didn't we just draft that last season?

I'm not a happy camper now. We're not helping our offense at all.

I wonder if Kubiak has created a login and is venting on this thread. "Hey guys, remember me?" :-)

Looks like we're beefing up our front seven.

However, I'm interested how Jernigan is going to fit our scheme.

ozzie must be going senile, I have never doubted ozzie until now. im even madder then I was when we passed on hakeem nicks for Michael oher. ive vocally been against drafting HHCD, but jesus the guy was expected to go at 13 AT THE LATEST, and he slides all the way to 17, clearly the BPA, better value than mosley, and fills the biggest glaring need on our roster, there is literally no bigger hole on our roster than FS, on the other hand, we traded up in the 2nd for Arthur brown just a year ago, signed daryl smith to a long term contract, and ILB is practically locked up. I am LIVID about this pick right now. worst pick since kyle boller, and this is only the 2nd time since I started following the draft in 06 that I have been mad about any of our picks, I generally believe every pick ozzie makes is a smart one in some way, whether or not it is the player I "like", but this seems like a completely idiotic pick to me. neg away.

Not only will you be eatibg these words, but probably be wearing a Mosely jersey once you see him in Beastmode. Just chill and see
