Seems like we're doing what we did last year. Addressing the middle of the defense and signing old offensive players through FA.

 

Yeah cuz it worked so well for us last season.

+100 defense is all good . but if you can't put points on the board and defend the deep pass  your not going to win  period .

so our biggest needs as I see them

 

Free Safety- we don't have a solid starting free safety, which the Ravens have always had for the first 17 years of the franchise. and I don't know if there are any great Free Safeties left

 

Offensive Lineman- we need a Right tackle or Left guard preferably a Right Tackle and one who can start or truly compete for the starting job. If our new center is good and Yanda and KO get healthy a Right tackle would solidify our Offensive line again and we can get back to our strength running the football. We signed out Left Tackle of the future. I'm not as high on Munroe as some of you are but he's alright I guess.

 

Running-back- remember when we use to be deep at this position, well not so much anymore.  Ray Rice was injured last year but what's more concerning is his recent legal troubles and a possible suspension (2 games, 4 games, 6 games, 0 games I have no idea). And our 2nd string running-back is coming off a rotator cuff injury which is a big deal.  Thats it, I know we signed Justin Forsett but I'm not expecting much. He has one highlight against Detroit and thats about all he has to show for his career so far. Runningback has always been the strength and the below of our offense. This is a pivotal draft pick. PIVOTAL. I still believe Ray can be a dynamic RB but if we lose him for a substantial amount of time especially for the early division games there goes the season.

I'm not a big fan of our offense by no stretch of the imagination BUT I have to agree with you on this.  Why we're not drafting to build the offense is mind-boggling to me at this moment!

I guess we will be stuck with Mongrief or someone at WR.

In OZ we trust,,now I am loyal to our mantra but it is becoming more and more difficult to support these choices,I understand BPA but we should have taken a TE or a WR anybody but a person with more issues,,,isn't this the vent section,,,

Our )-Line should automatically be better if everyone is healthy and our new center actually plays center unlike Gino. 

 

I think people are expecting a little too much from Steve Smith he is 34 years old. And Owen Daniels is 31. I just hope Jacoby and Pitta stay healthy.  Jacoby and Torrey are our deep threats. Torrey is really blooming into an all around solid receiver.  Pitta's basically our possession receiver/TE. Steve Smith's gonna be slot. and Daniels will be another body to catch the ball. He's got better hands than Dickson but he can't block.

 

so I'm not seeing big improvement in our WRs and TEs. It's still basically Torrey, Jacoby and Pitta. Hopefully Marlon Brown or another young WR steps out and Steve Smith and Owen Daniels can contribute when needed.

 

It comes down to the run, we are and always have been a running football team if we can get back to that everything else should start to jell. Personally I'd love to add another poses ion receivers, a strong big bodied guy who can catch contested balls. Since Boldin left all we really have is Pitta and ideally we need at least one more really strong sure handed weapon to compliment Joe's skillet.

Two TEs coming off serious injuries - only 1 of which we've seen actually play (Pitta). A Center that everyone says is only marginally better than Gino. I'll give you WR - but - that is IF no one gets injured. If they do we're back to fill ins like Clark & Stokely.

I'm just not worried. We didn't lose anyone on offense. And we gained some interesting pieces. I don't see it likely our offense is one of the very worst next year as it currently is.

Brooks was my FS sleeper, best pure deep cover safety in the draft, not much of a run defender.
