Ravens Draft 2014

616 posts in this topic

Gilmore is 6'6 260. Good blocker with reliable hands, not a burner but can do both. Kubiak and Ozzie know TEs. He is a huge man.

hated this pick til I spoke with my son and he said we are going to be very happy with this guy . hes not fast but hes a good player and a huge red zone target so imma  cut ozzie some slack today lol. .I think Jensen  might be the answer at rt this year because if wagner is the answer then we are asking the wrong question. today we get our rt . thinking positive .

No more WRs unless we get someone who'd improve our stocks from pretty much their rookie season falls. We have enough projects and we can go after a WR1 next year (optimistic I know, but dreams are free).

All the talented WRs came out this year, very slimpickins next year.

Looking ahead I can see WR, CB and DL as our big needs next year, though I think we'll have our DL stars established and won't really need to get younger. Next year would be a really good time to inject some long-term star talent at WR and CB though. Whether or not we'd pull the trigger remains to be seen, but at this rate those are the two spots I'd like to see us hit early. Very early days considering this draft isn't even over, but still.

I thought this exact same thing last year I hope we are right .

This guy runs a 4.8 40 but we can cut that in half by only using him inside the 20. :)

Wagner went in for Oher last season - he was pathetic and everyone was screaming to get him out. KO we'll see. No way to know just yet.

Ehh.. He was put in a very tough situation

That's not fair to use as a basis of his ability

Maybe Antonio Richardson, Cameron Fleming and Cyril Richardson are still out there. Would be happy with any or all of them haha.

Wouldn't mind using one of our last picks on Louchiez Purifoy....special teams beast, with potential to be a pretty good corner.

Rice will get some sort of suspension. That leaves Pierce and what was that guy's name that we all went who? when they signed him? That RB? That is pretty much it at RB.

We signed a center who, it is being reported, is slightly better than Gino, who most raved about when he was drafted. But - didn't work out that way did it? Jensen & Wagner - though the FO might be high on them - have not proven anything. Wait - we did see Wagner didn't we? I believe most of us were of the opinion we hoped not to have to rely on him?

KO - still an unknown because he did not play well - we all just assumed his back was injured from day one but we don't know that especially since it should have been listed on the injury report and wasn't.

Kubiak - I'll give you - but you can only do so much if you're not given the players to do it with.

They drafted a project TE because he is considered a blocking TE. Not a receiving TE and his weakness is his route running and lack of separation (man doesn't that sound familiar?).

The point is: we give the defense all the high draft picks every year, they play a click above average and everyone is "oh our defense is soooooo improved!" (stats prove otherwise) but we give the offense hand me downs and scrub picks and expect them to play top 5 or at least top 10.

Boston College has a big bruising RB in the draft that we can definitely get today.

remember guys , off season is not over yet, so calm down, teams will cut good players after draft.

We heard this last year and that's why we went 8 and 8.

we are also better than last year before the draft. Smith has a lot left in the tank for this year and even last year. Imo, he's our #1 this year. Owen Daniels is way better than Dickson or Clark. Hopefully KO will be healthy and back to form. And I believe in Wagner. To me, the draft is just a luxury this year.

Would love to get a small WR here at the end of the 4th. Camp or Ellington would be great.

Really want Ellington. 49ers just broke my heart.

OT - Fleming.; Richardson, Steen

WR - Bryant, Abbrederis

RB - Williams, Seastrunk

LB - Jones, Bradford, Smith

QB - McCarron

Let's see who gets picked before we get our turn.

Injuries, and pathetic Oline collapse.

Wonder if all those guys in love with Art Brown last year are worried he won't get a chance to play until D.Smith is gone? Mosley will start over brown. It really seems like the Ravens are taking a mulligan from last years draft... Just saying.

I am. They wont drop smith imo. So it will be mosley or brown. So someone will be riding the pine

I sure hope Mosley starts because we passed up on both Dix-Clinton and Pryor to take him.  He seems to have all the right stuff.  ILB is a position that you can substitute players in and out on one side but you definitely need a defensive captain out there for 3 downs to read the plays and audibles.  D. Smith is that man on the Ravens now.  Mosley will be that guy in a few years but meanwhile he has the tools to start on the other side of the spread.

Darrell will probably be with us for 3 more years. If Art Brown isn't ready at that point, it was a waste of a pick.

Injuries, and pathetic Oline collapse.

The loss of Boldin and Pitta (for part of the season) was greater than imagined because it left Flacco with no reliable check-down guy.  Rice and Pierce both struggled with injuries and never got it going in the running game.  This forced Flacco to air it out and make more mistakes than ever before in his career.  Despite the injuries, the OL didn't do too badly, but it didn't play well enough to push the pile on short yardage situations and in the red zone.  It's a testimony to the toughness of Flacco and the linemen who were often playing out of position.  Monroe is much better than many people give him credit for and will only improve in a new blocking scheme that is similar to that which he has used his whole pro career.  Yanda is my favorite linemen and deserves all the credit for playing through injuries.  Now that we have an experienced center we should see the level of play elevate exponentially.  I hope and pray that the big guy Osemele is fully healed and can play RT.  Let's just get a few more pieces of the puzzle and find a free agent or two later on to fill in the gaps.  We are the Ravens, baby.  We are winners.

And there goes andre williams lol.

I had a feeling it might be the Giants especially the talk from them and seeing them eye him at the combine.

Dude we were "all set" last year too. Boldin was gone but Pitta was going to pick up the slack. Then he got hurt. Then JJ got hurt. We got so lucky that a undrafted rookie was as good as he was in Marlon Brown or we might have had a losing season. We had to give up picks to bring the O line up to even poor play. We had the worst running game ever in the NFL since the 2000 season (I forget what team it was) and now Rice is likely suspended for no one knows how long. And we've got Pierce (not an every down back nor a receiving back) and Forsett - yeah.

Wagner was crap when he came in for Oher last year. To the point that people were like "I never thought I'd say this, but I hope Oher isn't seriously injured". That is how badly he played and that is who you're relying on?

Please. This was the draft to go offense. The talent was there and it was deep. Next year's crop is slim pickins.

We might need to switch Terrance Cody to RB he can be the bruiser we need.... :268213:

REFRIGERATOR MOUNT CODY.  We could play the Fat Boyz every time he goes in at M & T too!

it's probably isn't justified if Mosley is what I and a lot of other think he is... I was never high on Brown, just didn't have the intensity I like for a backer on the Ravens.
