51: Vernon Davis, TE (Denver Broncos) -

Making him the sixth Bronco on the list thus far.

That guy on NFL network whining about Flacco is so annoying. His arguments are so flawed he has no idea what he's talking about

Can I ask an honest question without getting neg'd here? And not trying to turn this into a Flacco thread - but... is he the new Romo?  Most loved & hated QB of this generation?

(How 'bout that Yanda?)

No, he's loved by his fans at least

We've finished with the bottom half, next week's clues are...

...lots of AFC West players next time

...a Jet

...two more TEs left on the list

...nine more QBs left on the list

Here's my list from last week on the QBs:

P. Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, E. Manning, RGIII, Roethlisberger, Wilson, Luck, Newton

...with Flacco appearing on the list, who gets the boot?

I doubt Eli makes it and I could see Cam Newton and Ryan on it at the expense of Eli and RGIII

P. Manning for his record setting season

Wilson for winning the SB

Rodgers and

Brees and

Brady are shoe ins

Phillip Rivers had a GREAT season (he was on this list already, when everyone was counting him out)

Luck

Big Ben

Cam or Ryan

E.Manning and RG3 get the boot, imho.

Dave Dameshek is so ignorant. I wish I could go onto that show and debate with analysts

He is a Steelers fan, you can't reason with those people

I could at least put factual information out there

People, Dave included, seem to miss the fact, that the list is called top100 players of 2014 and not 2013. It's a projection. With Kubiak and a OL, that is finally starting to take shape (according to reports anyway), I find it very doubtfull, that Flacco will repeat his performance from last season, especially since coming back from bad games has been the one constant thing about Flacco's carreer. And that's what you have to do, when you make a top100 players of 2014 list. Consider the carreer of a player as a whole.

Chris Wesselings article on the top100 list on NFL.COM is a good example of missing the point. Here's a direct quote:

"It's almost impossible for the lay fan to analyze an interior offensive lineman, but the Marshal Yanda ranking is a head-scratcher. He was left off the list after the 2012 season, when he was widely regarded as the NFL's best guard. He is now being rewarded with a No. 55 ranking even though the Ravens' 2013 rushing attack was one of the most futile in league history."

Really? Yanda played through a nagging injury on a horrible OL unit and you don't expect a fully healthy Yanda on an improved OL to have a better season? Ugh, this is just painfull to read. And some people wondered how the "underdog Ravens" managed to win the SB. We are only underdogs, because no one gives our guys any respect! Seriously, how does anyone not notice this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Troy Aikman. Horrible numbers, but a proven winner. Romo has the numbers, but not so much the wins.

Same thing can be said about a lot of Seattle players as well prior to their run. You are correct with the Ravens as well in saying that

After reading that statement, I'm with you.  Wanna share?

I don't know if I'd put Joe in the Troy category just yet, but he's getting there and could be a far better QB in time.  And my comment wasn't meant to be so much the statistical comparison as it was the public perception & analyst opinion.  While, we the Ravens fans, see Joe as a upper echelon quarterback, those who don't follow Ravens football on a weekly basis and only look at the stats seem to shred him apart every chance they get - when he's playing bad.  When he's playing good, he's a media darling.

Maybe I need something for the bipolarity they're giving me.

Omg, just saw the "reaction show".

Willie and Damesheck deserved to be smacked for their Flacco comments! Lmao. How the hell do they get away with feeding the casual fans such bullcrap? At least the other guy knew what he was talking about, I'm thankful someone was defending him.

Nate Silver, the guy defending him, is a really awesome guy. He usually does baseball and politics because he's so good with statistics, but apparently he's good with football, too

Most likely it is no Eli, though I could see it being RG3

Nate Silver the stats guy who predicts elections?

Yes, and he actually hasn't been wrong yet.

He got into elections because of his ability to use statistics for fantasy baseball

It was my bad. I thought I heard Nate Silver, which surprised me a bit. I at least corrected myself

Do you believe in our guys coach?

I do.  I see John as a leader, not a manager.  A leader helps those around him by giving them the tools to be successful on their own and gives them the opportunity to prove themselves on their own.  A manager, well - manages.  Standing by with a microscope, managing every facet of the day. Taking all the credit, but none of the blame.

The little mutiny we had on our hands in the locker room is what had me sold on John Harbaugh; while we will never what was said or who said it, we all saw the result of it.

I believe in John Harbaugh. :P
