Malkavian Raven

NFL Network's Top 100 Players of 2014

189 posts in this topic

Thanks for posting the results Panda.

I am fine with where Kap ended up. Other than that I have no opinion thus far...

You're fine with it? Kaepernick isn't as good as Staley, Iupati, Davis, Gore, Crabtree, or Boldin, and those are just the guys on his offense. If Kaep makes the list, then so should these players. That means 7 of 11 guys from the 24th ranked offense should make the top 100, which is ridiculous considering top 100 means about 3 per team total.

QBs are clearly overvalued on this list, which sucks but I get it.

Not to sound like a nerd, but actually DEs make the majority of the list usually, followed by WRs, then QBs, then RBs.

There are also 2 DEs and WRs starting per team compared to 1 QB.

I mean I didnt look at it mathematically and or scientifically.

I would not put a whole lot of stock in my opinion any way.

Also, rewatching some of the Top 100 on NFL Network - they already said that the 49ers have more players than any other team on the list this year.  So... let the red and gold parade begin...

I'll take a ring over most players on the list

They also had the most last year. Probably why even after we won the Super Bowl, people were claiming we should've lost.

People tend to just repeat what the guys on sports shows say.  The whole world thought we were going to lose and after we won they came up with dozens of reasons as to why we should've lost.

One day, hawkprey, we'll get the respect we deserve... even if we have to beat it out of them. ;)

Instead we get the (lack of) respect we need right now.

The first Seattle Seahawk will be revealed next week.  Who do you think it is?

Also, a former DPOY will be revealed?  Suggs, perhaps?

Malcolm Smith? No way it can be Wilson, Sherman or Thomas. They are all probably within the top 30 at least.

While it has been disappointing of no Ravens so far but it is a positive as it means our players are still thought of as highly as other players despite the bad season we had. So we may not have a lot but at least we can take some pride in them being listed highly among their own peers.

Cowboys have four hunh ?

it would be interesting to see the team count at the end of all this.

Its funny seeing play off teams with zero ( as of right now ) with the exception of the NFL's glory team, Denver.

Bryant has to be on the list.

He will be, just not this low

Those are the counts as of right now, 30-players into the list.

Same goes for the positional counts, once we get over the 50-mark, it's mostly going to be quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, safeties and corners.  The big fellas in the trenches are going to be forgotten. :(

Yeah it is kinda sad the guys in the trenches. They are the heroes these football teams deserve but not the ones they need right now...(sorry, I had to fit that in somehow lol)

I haven't been keeping up with this list. So the Cowboys had 4 already?

What are the odds we don't have a single player of ours make this?

I'm thinking Sizzle is going to be on the next episode as they hinted "a former defensive player of the year" will be on the list next week... but I have been wrong before... once... a long... long... time ago... in a galaxy far... far... away.

Talib at 79 is criminal. He's top 30-35.

I don't see anyway Flacco or Rice will make this list if it's based off last year.

Tomorrow evening @ 9PM ET, players 70 thru 61 are revealed.

Here's hoping to see at least one Raven on the list this year.  C'mon Sizzle!

They go off reputation and former play a lot.
