Draft a Franchise: Discussion

Davis will be my main return man (backed up by Bruce Ellington) and will take over the #3 RB job from Fred Jackson next year probably.  Love my RB corps: Shane Vereen, Lamar Miller, Fred Jackson, Knile Davis

TJ McDonald definitely had his struggles last year, but really improved once he came back from his injury.  He's my 5th S though, so I can afford to take the chance on the upside that he showed last year.

I picked Snead with my last choice who is an udfa whom I am a big fan of. Word I'd he has been looking good in camp this far as well. I like a young guy as my 6 wr.

Lucaswas an interesting looking prospect to me. Very raw and questionable motivation. But tons of physical talent. Any word on how he's looked this far?

I heard a report today Arizona is looking at Harrison.

Funny, I heard something similar...

Yep. That's why I went with Harrison. He's been nails against the run throughout his career and could be used as a rotational player. He's had experience in both the 3-4 and the 4-3, but I didn't want to select him until he was at least close to signing with a team.

I have no idea if Sutton is available, but I didn't want to get skipped

He's not.

I'm making my pick since I have to run to class myself.

Richardson was on my very short list (like two people) to select next.

Cortland Finnegan is coming off a few bad years, but as a 6th CB he isn't bad and has run away with the Dolphins #2 CB spot this year despite Jamar Taylor expected to win the job.

Just don't match him up on Andre Johnson ;)

I hated Richardson's tape, but as a reserve, the selection makes sense.

That's why I took him. I could use a project as a 9th lineman. Apparently he's improved so I'll take him.

Didn't even realize he was still available

It got Andre Johnson ejected though, so it would be a good plan

The little ball of hate!

Good to hear.  As Truth said, I wasn't a huge fan of him pre-draft, but there were definitely moments where you could see a potential top notch player.  As my 9th lineman, I can afford to take a chance on him developing.

At this point I take a project who might not pan out at all, but has all the tools to suceed in the NFL. Needs some time and work but could be good. If he doesn't get it together as a QB he might work as a TE which was his position during the recruiting process

Being at the end of the order in the last round and considering everyone else is going to get a LS in the last round, I figured I would just pick one round ahead and get my pick of the bunch as opposed to what is left over. Figure the guy I would have taken here instead should still be around at the end anyways and if not, I have a couple others I am fine replacing them with.

I don't know the first thing about long snappers so except if yours gets hurt your team is screwed. I just took the one that works with my kicker. I'm sure there's something important there? I took Barth as my kicker who was very accurate before an injury last year. But he's reportedly booting 60+ yarders again.

I wonder if coaches say anything to their kicker?

My LS will be my backup C

I'd imagine it'd be difficult to convert him back to tight end because it's already been five years, and it's only going to get longer and longer as the years pass

Osi is aging, but he can still be an effective pass rusher on a limited snap count.  He can also mentor my young DE corps.

Frey was just released by the Bears...

As long as a player isn't retiring, I'm not really worried if a player is a FA or not. Think of it this way: If we were the actual GM's of a team, these players would be on our team, regardless of whether or not they're a FA in real life.

Similar to having a player in a different scheme than how they're used in real life. Similar to how you drafted Cofield to play in the 4-3 on your team, but he's actually a 3-4 nose tackle.

This game is going to have differences between real life and the game
