Draft a Franchise: Discussion

An empty notification. Must have missed all the fun. I learned the hard way that a non-QB in the 1st can be a dangerous strategy. But the Watt pick will likely work out better than it did for me the year before, as there's better depth at QB.

I have some excellent prospects I have in mind that no one else will see coming. My excellent scouting allows me these advantages. Watch out, because my team will be deadly.

Thanks for making the pick PaRaydise. I was fast asleep at 4 am. Baltimore Flacco is on the clock

Why were you negged for this?

post it cause I made mine

also whoever took Matt Ryan before Flacco, enjoy watching playoffs from home (for the life of your franchise)

It's a team sport. And I may have a defense that doesn't allow an average of over 30 points per playoff game. I like my chances.

Not this guy. Fantastic Mr. Foles carried my team lol

Love how my posts gets editted for a running joke about the drafting of Matt Ryan over Joe Flacco.

On a side note, I never thought that would happen on a ravens forum of all places.

Crap, great pick. Hoped Rivers would slide to me. Surprised he lasted that long with some QB's taken before him.

I'm not surprised. He's older and has never won the big one. Last year was a bit of a resurrection for him considering he had two very poor seasons leading up to it.

I've always liked Ryan, but I found a deeper appreciation for him after watching the Falcons last season. My two former OL FM selections were given a chance to start, so I tuned in often. Sadly, each time I did, the duo performed horribly. The injury to Sam Baker forced them to switch Lamar Holmes to the left side, and their Offensive Line was in shambles. The running game was seemingly a non-factor, and Roddy White was visibly slowed by a plethora of injuries, including his shoulder, hamstring, knee and ankle. Ryan was forced to carry the offense by throwing an average of 40 passes per game, the 2nd most in the NFL, and the offense looked respectable on paper because of his success. On film, however, it wasn't as pleasant to watch. I expected the criticism, especially since this is the Ravens forum, but I've watched him enough to be confident in his abilities as a franchise QB.

True but I'd still take him over Wilson, Kaepernick, Newton and probably Ryan. It's just preference I guess since some owners want young blood.

More confident than in Flacco? How dare you ever write on these boards again :P

I think it's because PFF doesn't keep track of Playoff Choke-jobs.

This again? Considering that you have a subscription to the same site you perpetually mock, you wouldn't have to assume. I selected him over several QBs with higher PFF grades, so your argument is non-applicable. You had no issue in using its data to attempt to prove that Calvin Pace was a better pass rusher than Trent Cole and Carlos Dunlap. Let's cut down on the hypocrisy. With regards to Ryan, he certainly deserves a portion of the blame for the postseason losses, but not the entire platter. The 24 points their defense surrendered to New York in 2011 was their least amount of points allowed in the postseason since 2008, so the other side of the ball has been at least as equally disappointing. If you're so deeply offended that I didn't select Flacco, fine. But continue your personal jabs in private. Don't publicly claim that you're done, and then with no dialog between us thereafter, turn around and return fire.

It's a shame I'm no longer allowed to post popcorn gifs...

If I wasn't on mobile I'd be looking for some Jerry Springer ones.

Maybe they will add Choke-jobs into their signature stats.

Maybe you could just stop with the personal jabs? Not part of the game and not worth it.

Matt Ryan sucks.

I wouldn't go that far.  While they have generally supplied him with some weapons, that team isn't built particularly well and their problems were only exacerbated by the foolhardy Julio Jones trade.
