Draft a Franchise: Discussion

Kap? Woah, reach IMO. Don't rate him

I figured there would be a mixed reaction. He has huge upside and had a very good year last season. He had respectable yardage and TD totals to go along with only 8 picks, plus huge rushing production. He did all this without a ton of help in the passing game. I considered 2 other passers but they were either too old or coming off a horrible season. Tough decision but I went with the upside player who can limit mistakes.

He's a very obnoxious person but he strikes fear into the heart of any defense. That's why I picked him.

I definitely wouldn't take Wilson or Kap over a certain Delaware Alum, but that's just me.

Especially considering that both are highly managed QBs, and they were 32 and 31 respectively on the amount of pass attempts this season.

Saw that one coming as you had him last year.

It's not that I'm necessarily a huge fan of his, although I think he is very good. I just thought he represented the best combination of existing talent, upside, and ability to avoid mistakes left on the board.

Almost went in that direction. What swayed me is that I saw how the player you are talking about fared without help around him this year. I don't want to feel pigeonholed into drafting protection or pass catchers too early when there is better value on the board simply because there is a night-and-day difference with that player's performance depending on those factors. With Kap I feel more comfortable going BPA early on.

They were 22nd and 20th in the regular season, if I'm not mistaken.

I would, that Buffalo game certainly did him no favors with 5 ints and those other ints did not help either in the other games. Wenning is going to be starting for him by preseason anyways. He doesn't deserve to be taken in the top 31 picks. As for pick 32 where I am conveniently picking...

Overall yes, not per game.

Which source were you using? I'm using NFL.com, and it shows 16th for Wilson and 20th for Kaepernick in attempts per game. I don't know of there's another site to cross-reference attempts per game.

Haha I like your strategy.

They're listed as 43 and 44 on NFL.com in attempts per game, check your sorting.  Just looking at attempts, the only players who threw less didn't play full seasons.

Ah, I see that now. I made a mistake. I looked at the arrow and figured it was sorting by the attempts. Instead, it was sorting by passing yards, the next category over. Sorry about that. The point about attempts makes sense. There's no denying that neither was forced to be a gunslinger.

This is a very tough choice between a few QBs and one of my favorite players. Looking for the picture.

Wow. I am really surprised at the last 6 picks. Whoever takes my number 3 is getting a steal.

Tebow is the guy right?

I think it's Manziel. Every team could use some mad [vulgarity removed].

True, maybe even Keith Wenning, I mean that is Kubiak's guy. Tom Savage is another, a lot of buzz about his arm strength

hows calvin johnson a surprise. One of the top 3 players in the league at 6 is great value. Rodgers was gone, the other is yet to be drafted yet
