2014 Game Schedule

212 posts in this topic

So, the Bengals who won the division last season have two Prime Time games & a Thursday night. None of those at home.

We have two Prime Time games & a Thursday night, only the Thursday night at home.

Pittsburgh, who finished behind us both, have 3 Prime Time games & a Thursday. Two Prime Times at home.

hmmm...

I wouldn't call this a bad schedule.  My only gripes are a lack of primetime games and no MNF home game, which I think we deserve.  But, we get a late bye and finish at home against the Browns.  This schedule is rather favorable for me.

The Bengals are Broncos really got jobbed in my opinion, lol.  Each of them have three game road stretches and against tough opponents, and they play most of their road games very late.

I still think it's weird that we go to NO in preseason and in regular season.  I feel like that's rare to play a team in both.

Really? 4 days after we play the Bengals we have to play the Steelers? It's bad enough, that we start the season with 3 divisonal games in a row. -_-

November's a pretty funky month for the Saints.

9: vs 9ers

16: vs Bengals

24: vs Ravens

30: @ Steelers

(although trust the Steelers to be the winners of that spot)

Yeah I know and of course the Steelers get the Browns before their quick turnaround.

To be fair, they have us four days after facing the Browns - who won't give them an easy win by any stretch. At least we're at home for it, then we don't have to worry about the schedule's greatest abomination Thursday fixtures unless we get really bored later in the season.

The Browns who are starting the season with a new QB? Somehow I think it will be like a bye week.

Oh and joy joy, we get to do it again on the road not too long after - @Bengals, @Steelers back to back.

3 Divisional games to start the season. Just great....

I hope we can go at least 2-1 in that series. Might take 2-3 games for our offense to get in gear and Kubiak/Flacco to be on the same page. If we can win early the rest of our season does not look difficult which is nice.

Thursday night football just stinks. I hate how the NFL is running things. :(

I don't mind it too much, it's just that the matchups are usually dreadful and it creates some weird wrinkles at times.

What I'm interested by is whether this early Thursday game is a statement by the NFL about what they think of our rivalry (in which case, as a wise man once said, "screw you guys, I'm going home"), or an attempt to spice up the Thursday games.

Guess my road trip will be to either the Week 1 game against the Bengals or the Week 2 game against the Steelers.

It's 4 days between the two, you might make it one nice 2-game trip as well.

Hopefully they use Hoyer for week one. I can see the Steelers winning, especially in Ketchup Field, but I don't think it'll be a gimmie. Either way, the Thursday game won't be as epic a spot for the Steelers as advertised imo.

That road trip does look pretty average though, and our game at Ketchup Field is the Steelers' third straight home game. They're having a party over on that forum - even talking about a 7-0 start.

Jaguars travel to Philly in the Eagles home opener..... hmmmm.

I see about 12-13 wins and potentially one of the top seeds in the AFC for us. I think it could be a dog fight between the Broncos/Patriots and us for the top three seeds in the AFC.

I wish I could take that many days off lol. Plus I got a job with the Panthers so I have to work all their home games. It just works out they are on the road in week one and the Ravens open at home in week one.

Why does everyone care about primetime games?  Who cares if the nation is watching?  Being at a primetime game is a pain because there are so many commercial breaks.  Football under the sun is much more fun.  Leave football under the lights to the lame HS games.

Can somebody tell me why it is that we either are guaranteed to start the season, end it, or do both, while playing the Bengals? Change it up a little.

Everyone finishes the season with a divisional game, as it means the games are more likely to mean something. It would be kinda weird if we finished against the Steelers because of the rivalry, so it's going to be Browns or Bengals.

Starting against the Bengals hasn't gotten stale yet imo, especially given what happened a couple of seasons back.

But I can't even recall a time when we played the Browns in week 17. We've finished the season against Cincinnati four seasons straight (2010-2013) and opened it against them (from memory) in 2007, 2008, 2012, and now 2014. I would say that this is a little ridiculous.

Wait, we don't play the Patriots this regular season?

They won their division last year and we finished third in ours. That's an advantage of having a down year last season. No Broncos either.
