First Game

Hey All,

First off, sorry if this is a repeat or in the wrong spot, I don't post on forums often.

My wife and I are flying to Baltimore to see our very first Ravens game this season (game to be determined when the schedule comes out tomorrow) and I am wondering where is the best area to sit in the stadium? I checked the seating chart, area 228 seems like a pretty good spot. Looking for opinions.

There really isn't a bad spot in that stadium. Area 228 is probably a great spot being that its basically mid field.

some are better than others, but none are bad.

Thanks for all the help / tips! Right now the plan is to spend at least a day or two in Baltimore and take in the city and finally see a Ravens game. It's a fairly far trip from where I live (eastern Canada) so I'm hoping to take in as much as possible.

You will be coming in the warm usually nice weather!

Remember if you buy seats in the 500 section of the stadium there are no escalators, there are some in the club level, just ramps and stairs.  There are elevators to the upper level, but be prepared to wait a while in line along with those who are physically unable to walk and suite holders.   There is a team that has escalators down I-95, but their owner spends more on gimmicks than football.

I hope you have a good time.

I don't think that the stadium has any blind spots (I know that FedEx Field has a ton) so you should be able to get a decent view of the field from wherever you are.

Last Question I swear. Does anyone know how much tickets in section 127 / 128 usually cost? I see on the price map on this website they have them around $145, is that the average price for those sections? I noticed some spots online where season ticket holders appear to be selling their tickets but they are well over $300 each. I will most likely wait for single game tickets to go on sale in July.

$145 is face value. The secondary market will generally be at least double that. The odds of scoring tickets during the 3 minutes they're on sale to the public is very unlikely. Tickets sell out incredibly fast. Your best bet is to find a decent price on NFL Ticket Exchange (where tickets are guaranteed to be legit) and go for it. The only "cheaper" option is to wait until shortly before the game, when prices will sometimes drop, and settle for whatever is available. Those could be nosebleed if you can even get any. Keep in mind that upper level and end zone tickets are less expensive than mid-field sideline. All seats have a good view of the field.

The secondary market for opening day and Steelers week can sometimes be quadrupled-- people sell those to finance the rest of the year. There are always scalpers outside the stadium but you pay a premium and there is a chance they could be stolen tickets and if they were reported stolen you will be turned away at the gate.

The Ravens were playing the Eagles preseason at the stadium, and there were people in my seats and the SAFE employee knew me and knew they were out seats and the Eagle fans got shown the door. They had some ticketmaster looking tickets and I had the regular PSL tickets. 2 or 3 seasons ago the lady in front of us had her entire seasons tickets stolen along with the brief case they were in and it got to be sport to see who got the boot every week from the seats, they finally caught the thief in December when he actually went to the game, needless to say he became an ex-employee that day.

Your best bet is a reputable ticket reseller like NFL Ticket Exchange since you are coming so far. I sit in the lowerbowl endzone and love my seats, JJ does things to amp up the fans when he is pacing the endzone, Ive been hit with a shanked field goal and you can see like play. You do tend to lose depth but that's what those ginormous Smart Vision boards are for!!!

There is so much you miss on TV and there will be nothing like the opening day crowd.

Thanks for the input! I bought tickets for the Atlanta game. Would have loved to see the Steelers game but it didn't line up with our trip and the NFL refused to revise the schedule :P I went with NFL ticket exchange for the exact reasons you listed above. I figure if I can't get legit tickets on NFL.com then they don't exist
