2014 NHL Playoffs/ picks

Atlantic Round 1

1. Boston vs #2 WC Detroit- Logically, Boston is the better team but Detroit won't just roll over. Upset alert. Detroit in 7.

2. Tampa vs 3. Montreal- toss up, but Tampa is a little better in goal than Montreal so Tampa in 6.

Metro Round 1

1 Pittsburgh vs #1 WC Columbus- Colombus is a scrappy team and Pittsburgh is beat up. Penguins win in 6..

2. NYR vs 3. Philly- Rangers are better in goal, Flyers have a more balanced offense. I'm picking the Flyers here because its a true toss up andthre Flyers have never lost a series to NYR.

West Round 1

Central

1. Colorado vs #1 WC Minnesota- Colorado easily in 5.

2.St Louis vs 3.Chicago- St. Louis is very good, Chicago is dangerous in the playoffs..Chicago in 6.

Pacific

1. Anahiem vs #2 WC Dallas- Anahiem outclasses Dallas in every aspect. Ducks in 5.

2. San Jose vs 3 LA- Toss up. San Jose has a good team as usual but they always fall short of their potential. LA is a physical team with a goaltender that can win a series on his own..LA in 7 but I think this will be a great series.

East Round 2

Atlantic

Tampa vs Detroit- Detroit Runs out of gas finally vs Tampa although they fight hard. .Tampa in 6.

Pittsburgh vs Philadelphia- Flyers shock Pens again in 5.

I got the Flyers in 7, the mighty bruins in 6, the pens in 5, hopefully the canadiens in 7 just so we can eliminate and beat the crap out of them. The stars in 7 for an upset, the blues in 7, the sharks in 7 and the aves in 5. Flyers eliminate pens but lose to B's in the conference final and stars losing out to the aves in west conference final.

Thats pretty agreeable too. For Bostons sake I would hope Tampa takes Montreal in round 1..Really I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Boston, Philly, or NYR in the Cup Finals from the East.

I'm pretty puzzled right now as to who advances in the west i'm usually every good at picking the playoffs but the west is a big crapshoot, I can see chicago,colorado or anaheim making it really.

Those would be my picks too. Not sold on LA totally, IMO Mike Richards and Jeff Carter are way overrated..which is why their offense is terrible at tines.

San Jose has the talent, but I just think that whoever they would most likely have to beat in the WCF is going to be too strong.

St Louis- I'm a big Ken Hitchcock guy..love his system. I wouldn't be suprised to see them in the conference finals, but not the Cup..if they do nake it to the Cup, my two East picks..Boston or Philly can easily match or exceed their physicality..and I love Ryan Miller..he's good but he's no Marty Broduer....speaking of, THANK GOD the Devs missed the playoffs....finally. Devils fans are the biggest sham in all of sports. I've always been convinced that they are merely Islanders fans who want to see the Rangers lose in the playoffs lol which is why their building is one of the tamest in the league during the regular season. Also, tired of seeing an AVERAGE Devils team go to the finals because Broduer drags them there lol

brodeur is on his last legs, but they did pick up a gun goalie in corey schenider who is legit in my opinion. Either way devils wont make it back to the playoffs for a little while. I think blues have already imploded they have already lost 6 straight coming into the playoffs and they have injuries too.

I wouldn't doubt if the Blues get beat in 5 or 6. They haven't been playing well at all these past few weeks. Who knows if they'll even have Miller next year since his contract is up after this season. Shame. I hope they prove me wrong, but they don't tend too this late in the season haha

Hopefully the Sharks can get this 3rd game and just make it almost impossible for the Kings to come back. 

 

and the Kings just took the lead 2 to 1 11:50 to go. Hopefully the Sharks can have another weird 6 goal comeback.

If you try and tell me niemi is elite i'll throw coffee in your face, the last time he was pretty good was with the blackhawks. He is the king of letting in soft goals.

However the sharkies do have good forwards, and they can always start stalock who isn't too bad. I just hope they bounce anaheim out of the playoffs if they eliminate dallas.

Its a shame, Miller has been playing excellent. Every goal he's let in (minus the first game) has been impossible to get too or the Blues defense letting him down. Whats the chances of the Blues stealing a win in Chicago tomorrow?

zero, the blues are done, ironically if you look at this year and last years playoff run the blues are following the act same script word for word to get eliminate in 6 by losing 4 straight.

I like both goalies equally. I think just he defense and offense just suck. They been doing it all year. Get hot then cold. I stll would have started Niemi tonight just based off numbers and experience. I just hope to god this change does not make the kings have more fire. I hate the Sharks. They always get you excited then they blow it. Its funny too how everyone is like its time for Niemi to go even though they wanted him over nabokov back in 2010. It took me awhile to get used to Niemi.
