Steelers' Offseason Signings

59 posts in this topic

What the Squeelers are doing this offseason is just Despicable with a Capdital "D"

The Stole LaGarrette Bount from us and they signed Lance Moore and Darius Heyward-Bey.

Why are they making knee jerk moves?

And does the signing of DHB and Moore by the Squeelers make the need for a Free Safety that much more desperate?

um they don't need FS anymore they signed mike mitchell from the panthers who's a FS an they re-worked Troy deals and have depth at both so. there probably gonna taking a corner either Dennard or Gilbert(if there).

No what I meant was does the Urgency for the Ravens to get a Free Safety increase dramatically? We really should have gotten Byrd!

Maybe if we wanted to sacrifice our O line improvements. I'd say our need remains the same anyway. Preparation for the Steelers comes when we go against them, not in free agency/draft. We gotta put a good team together for 16 games, not 2 specific ones.

We would have had to offer 9.5 million a year for Byrd, right now we have 6.9 million in cap room.

The sky is falling.

Lmao.

Lance Moore and DHB will be the best 1-2 punch at WR in NFL history. Book it. Boy do i feel bad for Ravens.

what do you mean they stole blount from us? if we really wanted and needed him he would still be with us. The steelers are destined for 8-8 again.

Regarding Blount, they can have him I am not a fan of his. I bet he will suck again next year as he did in his 2nd and especially his 3rd year with the Bucs. DHB is, well DHB... just bad.

And I do not know enough about Moore to judge him. But overall not good moves in my opinion, I would have been somewhat disappointed if we had picked up Blount

Blount is our second RB, so im thrilled with him there because he can come in fresh and play against tired D-line men

Moore is at best our third, his talent exceeds that responsibility

DHB is a fifth at best a fourth(depending on who we draft) so a former number 7 pick as a 5th......ill take it

sanders we didnt want anymore....but losing Cotchery made me sad

i love the mitchell signing alot as well

i also love the moats signing

True, as a #2 RB he could be a good option. But personally I lost all my respect for him after punching that Boise State guy

I never saw the potential in DHB, sure he was a 7th overall pick, but I wouldn't have drafted him in round 1. He was a one trick pony in college, not running good routes and had even worse hands. He may be good as a 5th reciever, but I wouldn't bank on him

That's when I gained respect for him lol. He's never been that great of a player and that NE offense will make any RB look good - Stevan Ridley gained 1200+ yards for them in 2012.

Ehh...these moves don't scare me too much, they really don't. Steelers fans should be worried since we got Steve Smith and locked up Dennis Pitta and Jacoby Jones for a while. I mean Blount is a good number 2 I guess but it's not like he's a LeSean McCoy or Adrian Peterson. Lance Moore is serviceable I guess but getting up there in age and doesn't really frighten me. I don't even know who Moats is, so that should say something. And DHB dropped 9 passes and failed to be a starter for a full season for a Colts team who was wide-receiver needy, so pretty confusing move why would the Steelers want him? And at this point I think he is best suited for a back up role. Overall none of these moves make me any more scared to face the Steelers next season. I am and always will be afraid to face them because no matter how much better one of the team's is that season, these games always seem to be close last minute field goal or touchdown wins. I'm more afraid of what the Browns did this offseason to be honest.

i agree that DHB is not a starter, but he wont start for us. He will be a project player to see if we can fix him, if not no harm done.

Blount doesnt have to be AP or McCoy because i believe Bell has that potential, but as a "i need a breather" back he is gold.

Moats is the player that ended Brett Favre's start streak

We are just trying to have a "B" based offense.......Big Ben. Brown. Bell. Blount,..... Benjamin?(im hoping)

I guess having DHB as a fifth option isn't terrible then. And trust me, I see that potential in LeVeon Bell too. And I'm relatively new to football so I don't remember that game with Brett Favre and Moats but if he did that, then I guess you got a good player in Moates. The steelers will always be a tough opponent, all I'm saying is it won't be because of their recent signings but for the way they are coached and their style of football and the base of players they already had. I don't see these additions as a reason to add onto the already high levels of nervousness I have on the games against them next season.

EDIT: Just read the last sentence of your post, I really hope you guys don't get Benjamin, I'm starting to like the guy more and want a team out of the division to take him or us but only if we trade down some. Although he would make your offense scary.

i agree that these signings arent huge signings for a normal team but for the steelers they are, only because we never sign big names.......so for us these are blockbuster deals lol, also moats is a depth signing but he is tough and fits our style.

ravens steelers have the best rivalry in football

I expect Pittsburgh to go back to their normal, competitive selves next season. Especially if they nail the draft and the o line can play at least NFL average.

I think they're serious wild card contenders like us but we get the slight bump since I expect us to compete for the division as well.

Antonio Brown- Stud, WR1

Lance Moore-strictly slot

Markus Wheaton-strictly slot

DHB WR2

no, DHB is not our number two.........Wheaton is

Brown-WR1

Wheaton-WR2

Moore-WR3

ROOKIE-WR4

DHB-WR5

Thier problem is DL, LB and CBs very thin with no standouts outside of Heyward. They will give up lots of points. wRs.....Sanders and Cotchery are way way way better than Moore and DHB. Dline looks really bad and with no depth.
