HALLELUJAH THE NIGHTMARE IS OVER, this was beyond predictable that he would stink I couldn't believe some of the stupid O's and A's who said he would work and that Oakland is a pitcher's ballpark (whatever the hell that's meant to mean when you give up many hits and homers anyways) and this is why I am annoyed we didn't buy cruz or kinsler with that 10 mil.

I don't get the As trading away Cespedes. Lester is great don't get me wrong, but Cespedes can play defense, offense and is fast

Well the tigers wont be ending our season this year when the orioles end theres by playing 2nd vs 3rd in the playoffs. But yes we needed offense not another damn pitcher. Brandon moss and donaldson can't hit for crap in the post season and cespedes has a rocket arm and can actually hit in the post season. Billy beane is a damn fool he must have a hard on for pitching because he already wasted 10 mil on jim johnson, got rid of edwin encarcion a few years ago and traded our only good post season hitter for another pitcher. Even if we keep a team to like 2 or 3 runs it won't matter if we can barely get 1.

Well If I remember right he only had another year left before he would get a big pay and cap increase so this is more of a move about beane being cheap again. Either way if we don't resign lester next season then it will be even worse.

Eh. Lester loss isn't a super big deal since Parker and Griffin come back. You lose a (albeit superior) ace and get another (potentially) in return. Samarjdza is on contract for one more year and there's a possibility he's traded next season. So he'd be a gain.

So long term the As aren't screwed(they're not good off but whatever) I'd pick them to win it all again if they got an Utley through waivers.

As bad as I think the trade is, Lester was the best guy on the market. I can't be too upset as a season ticket holder. He's very good, hell he's great. Front four is good.

Maybe this is the year they finally turn it around. Who knows? Cespedes will be missed but everyone else has been decent.

I've never trusted the A's bats in the post season especially against verlander, now that's not to say I don't think they wouldn't stomp whatever ws opponent they would get from the NL if they got there, but the AL is so much tougher and you really need good batters to get through it.

Eh. I understand the feeling, but if you look at the playoff run thoroughly the As were not completely useless offensively during the thing. Game 4 they scored 6 runs. So Cespedés was good there but not great.

Sigh I know I know, beane and melvin are a bad combo full of twisted logic. I would have traded for more offense and traded hammel for something, I fear that the last trade broke the camels back and we are done this year. I think we make the playoffs but go out with an offensive whimper

Beane and Dombrowski went absolutely nuts with those trades. IMO, no respect for continuity of the team and/or job security hurt both of those teams. Trading away players that helped them achieve their respective division leads, and then they both faltered. Sorry, but I hope they both crash and burn.

Yeah that Cespedes trade was completely unnecessary.

He even said and I quote " I am happy to have lesters 3 wins" in regards to if he regrets the cespedes trade recently. Completely ruined us and won't admit it plus traded our best prospects away among other things.

Who lester? not really, especially after the trade for him is the reason why we are going home early again this season and we have gone awful and I knew we would a soon as it was announced. Worst part is addison russell and our other prospect is gone now so we don't have a great future for such a long time now, michael choice was traded for nothing as well so was edwin encarcaron and cris carter and jemile weeks. Billy beane hates offense and thins pitching wins championships alone.
