Meh. Sure, it's ridiculous that the father of the position loses against a QB, who isn't even HoF caliber, but atleast the end result (Montana winning by the looks of it) is something I can live with.

Polls of any kind cannot be taken seriously anymore these days. They're all rigged, reap with voter fraud, and generally whichever group puts the most effort into their party getting the most votes, fair or not, will win. The true better candidate will often miss out because of this. Since this is a silly NFL.com poll I think we can rest easy to know that Unitas is better.

Just an update, Unitas won and is now going against Montana who is destroying him. I do think Montana is the GOAT however so I don't mind

He had a good career, but he's nowhere close to what you said he is. If somebody was to make a list of the 25 best QBs in NFL History, I think that McNabb would struggle to get in.

Both were great. Its like picking paint shades...Unitas ushered in modern Qb play, so I give him a slight edge. I think they are the 2 best. Vote for John if you can.

I actually became a Ravens fan by being a Colts fan first, after watching a documentary on Unitas on the internet and I am still quite surprised as well. I do feel, that Montana was about as successfull at playing the QB position as anyone could be and definetly would be the only QB I could put over Unitas, but Johnny U is the father of the position and being the first should matter. If not, why is everyone trying to win the championship.

As much respectability as the poll lost when Tim Tebow wasn't nominated, Montana v Unitas is legit. Patriots and Broncos fans will be upset that Brady and Manning didn't make the final two, but screw 'em.

Players are compared to Unitas not the other way around. He is/was the best. The Poll ended with the best two.

I have to go with John Constantine Unitas on this one, one the gournds that there were a number of games he won for the Colts on the sheer basis of his persuasive personality.
