"The greatest accomplishment is in never falling, but in rising again after you fall" - Vince Lombardi

Ravens lost the AFC championship and then won it all the next year.... I hope we build off this season and Baltimore history repeats itself.

If we had manny,Davis and wieters we would've been heavy heavy favorites in final four

But na wouldn't put it on that level with this squad

I mean come on.. Flaherty Pearce and Joseph/Hundley were everyday starters for us

Exactly.  If we can find a way to bring Cruz back, we have...

C - Wieters

1B - Davis

2B - Schoop

SS - Hardy

3B - Machado

RF - Markakis

CF - Jones

LF - Cruz

DH - Pearce

That's one dominant lineup.

I agree that our injured/suspended players hurt bad but come on not even one win ?

I knew it was over at 2-1 when the Royals bullpen came in .

um no

Then what other choke jobs were worse . Steeler playoffs a couple times , Maryland duke semifinal , Pirates coming back from 3-1 to win it all . Mets /o's . Colts-Namath

This is right behind some of those .

Steelers 2010 was awful, Patriots 2011 was probably the hardest loss I have gone through, Yankees 2012 was bad, Namath I am sure

This one is bad I know but our starting pitching wasn't good enough to win it all and with all the injuries we just weren't at full strength. Will be interesting to see what they do in the offseason

Cruz DH and find another LF

May have to trade a pitching prospect to secure a good LF since we don't have much in young OF talent

I'd like to see us get a good lead off man so we could drop markakis to 7th..

Idk I'll look at it more in depth down the road I guess

I can't say I am not disappointed in being swept, but nobody can take away that we were the AL East Champs. It did feel good to win that. The fans this year were awesome, hopefully we can retain some key guys and if not - I assume some free agents may be willing to come here now that we were pretty good. Things are certainly brighter than years past. Thanks O's for a real good season! Go get em' in 2015!!!

I think we were missing too many pieces...  Our guys just looked a step slow in this series...  I'm sad.

I'm sad too. I don't mind them losing but swept - ugh. Can't take that.

I think Roch summarized my feelings pretty well.

I hope the team knows that we still love and appreciate what they did this year. I guess getting swept in the ALCS kind of dampens the love shown their way and I am pretty sure they a down a bit going out that way, but they fought hard. I am sure we all will be closely monitoring their off-season and free agency. The O's are relevant again and we all can appreciate that. I am looking forward already to next season.

Losing is never easy and at my age this ain't my first rodeo. 1969,1971,1979, the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl 3. This year was really magic. It brought back all those memories of the great players, the "Worlds Largest Outdoor Insane Asylum" (Memorial Stadium), great fans and my home town! This years team did us proud, forget the thud at the end, No one would have guessed we'd get that far. I hope this is the spring board to a great run and that Peter Angelos will see this and let Dan do his job so Oriole Magic returns for a long time. Great job by the team and the best damn fans in sports!!

I agree in that I really felt I was going to pull for the Royals in the WS had they won. Not anymore. I don't think I'm going to actively root against them, but I can't see myself wishing them well at this point My only hope is that vengeance is ours in 2015 and I want to see our boys rub their noses in it if that happens.

No doubt this was a great season and I will always look back on being fortunate enough to have attended game 2 of the ALDS in person as one of the great live sporting events I've ever witnessed, but no matter how you slice it ... spending those 4 days in the ALCS torture chamber took some of the shine off the season.

Missing Machado and Wieters was the difference in this season, simply put.

You can't lose some of your key players and expect to keep the same momentum...
