Better than Gino Gradkowski, that's for sure. I'll take it. He was a promising young center not too long ago.

I like this trade and his age, experience, and versatility is a boon for a staff that preaches that final trait in every question asked about its offensive line. That said, I'm surprised so many of you think this is our new savior, in ProFootballFocus' words, Zuttah has been "consistently average" the duration of his career and had already been mentioned as a potential cap casualty with the Bucs since the beginning of the offseason. This will improve the competition in the interior of our line and I wouldn't be surprised if he wound up winning a starting spot on the line but its not a shoo-in either.

I wouldn't assume Zuttah is being brought here to start at center or guard, probably more for depth and insurance.

Who knows, maybe the change of scenery turns him into The Hulk.

Why would you think he isn't a starter? He has missed 2 games I think since 2008, plays all 3 interior positions and didn't ride bench last year. He just needs  a change of scenery and he will be better in our ZBS if we have are guys healthy! Davin Joseph was terrible last year and Carl Nicks played all of a game and a half...

How would you guys react IF Jeremy Zuttah was actually brought-in to play left guard (while Osemele shifted-back to right tackle AND Gino Gradkowski remained the center)? What would your thoughts be, then?

And, NO! I definitely don't want that to be the case. However, I'm always preparing for the worst-of-the-worst; so...

I also wouldn't assume Gino is out of the picture. You never know what a year of experience might do for his play.

I think he was brought in to play LG, that way we can get a center deep in the draft and focus on FS, WR, and TE in the early rounds.

He absolutely should start at center no question. Backup left or right guard.

Fun fact number 34/35 was one peter konz.

Aaron Wilson confirmed he's being brought in to play center.

To be honest this is a possibility. I think it would improve the line anyways. I liked Osemele at RT. I feel Gradkowski will be better than he was last year. That being said, if I had to choose I wouldn't want Gradkowski being our center.

The point is that he's not a waste even he doesn't start at center.  Right now and from what we know now he seems like the obvious choice, but I don't think he's a lock going into camp.

Osemele is a decent RT but a potential All-Pro at guard. I don't want him to be Ohered.

I don't know anything about this guy but a stuffed toy could block better than Gino so...

Im with this. I don't want KO moved. He has great potential at guard. Also, Monroe want his boy by his side.

Playing in between Yanda and Osemele will make this guy look like a superstar.

LT - Eugene Monroe

LG - Kelechi Osemele

OC - Jeremy Zuttah

RG - Marshal Yanda

RT - Rick Wagner/Draft Pick

That's not a bad OL on paper. Replacing Gino and Oher, getting Osemele back and having Monroe for a whole offseason will help this OL for sure! Probably a 5th or 6th round pick.

He's an average center all around, not particularity bad at anything, and not particularly great either. But he's an upgrade over Gino and Shipley so that's nice. I wouldn't call it a long term solution. The important thing is he's not a liability like Gino and Shipley were

He's also a good scheme fit

Now we need to get Legarrette Blount here.

You ain't lying, my friend. This team is starting to come together. Broncos and Pats aren't the only AFC forces to be reckoned with!

Honestly don't see us finding anyone else (through the draft or through cuts) to play center. I think he's pretty much a lock, especially now that it is said he's in their future plans following a long-term deal.

I don't care as long as Gino Gradkowski isn't at center for us next year.

I think something we need to consider is that Birk was PFF's 20th ranked center in 2012 during the Super Bowl run. Zuttah was 22nd last year, so the drop off isn't big between them. He'll have the chance to play with an All-Pro on his right side and a possible Pro-Bowl/All-Pro on his left, which I'm sure eases his concerns some.

What we're getting is a very young center who can still improve in some aspects, and I'm sure he will given the pedigree of the coaching staff and the players right next to him. Again, the most important aspect will be the fact that he can make the correct calls and reads. Birk wasn't the best blocker, but he lessened it by putting people in the position to succeed and help him out and minimize his deficiencies, something I'm sure Zuttah will do also. This is huge for the Ravens.
