Patriots cheating again?

33 posts in this topic

Saw a headline that former patriots players stated that the Pats cheat when it comes to their injury reports. No one should be surprised by this.

This is common knowledge, they've been doing it for years.  Pretty much everyone does it.  We do it, at least since when the league ticked Harbs off about the injury reports.  Heck they even do it in the college ranks, most notably at Texas.  Not a big deal at all.

The Patriots take it to another level. They are known to have had extremely long injury lists year after year.

I'd expect this from Jet fans, Colt fans, and Steeler fans.

I'd like to think Raven fans have had a successful enough franchise they they don't have to wallow in the mud with the malecontents.

This was a news item. We're discussing it. Some of the comments are very positive. Why are you insulting our fanbase over this?

It only takes 1 person to start a thread.

And 777RavensFan isn't even a Ravens fan. He's a Steelers fan. Just look at his avatar. It's the Steelers' logo. He even put a big red circle around it! It's impossible to miss.

with a big red hash going through it.... lol. But yeah, what exactly did the Ravens fans as a whole commit by one person creating a topic about the Pats?

Personally I don't see this as a big deal.

Trust Patriots fans to typecast an entire fanbase by what one person's said.

On the other hand, we can be pretty sure that The_Patriots_Way does fair representation of the majority of NE fans.

I wasn't aware that saying who may or may not play like everyone else in the league was cheating, next you'll say wearing yellow boots blinds the opposition and the pats should lose draft picks for that too.

Lol yeah teams do it all the time so I wouldn't really call it cheating. If anything, it is helpful to the player as other teams don't know what to go for with the injured players. You would think teams are above that but stuff happens quite a bit. Then there is the whole game-planning for 2 people aspect as well.

Yeah and I swear Brady has been questionable every other game for years but no one cares and veryone expects him to play which he does. Also talib and spikes I think are saying these things anyways because they are bitter for not getting paid in NE and also to convince their new teams they are healthy.

Yeah a lot of different motivations here so it is something that really is no big deal. Generally teams have a good clue on if the other guy is playing or not and it is something every team does.

*sigh*

This is not news.

The Pats did what every team in the NFL does. Its not cheating.

The Ravens actually got fined a few years ago for not putting Ed Reed on the injury report.

This thread is unnecessary.

What? Is he wrong in saying our fan base shouldn't be wallowing in the mud with the malcontents? Because we shouldn't be. This fan base is extremely petty.

The Pats got caught cheating in 07. That makes it fun to joke about them cheating. Just like other people think our team is a bunch of murders because Ray was once on trial for being one. It's just fanbases ribbing each other. I don't think anyone is actually taking this "injury report" thing seriously.

I always think you're a seahawks fan due to your username, but you're right once any kind of incident happens to a decent franchise the unoriginal fanbases of other teams repeat the same line for years.

I don't see how this is cheating, what I do see is an organization trying to damage the stock of two impending free agents by stating that Spikes busted his knee in January and Talib has a hip injury and not a quad strain.

True this happens a lot. However, when have you ever read about former players confirming that the organization that they played for cheated? That's a big difference.

Harbs now piles up the injury list because the league got on him for not putting Reed on there, who off handedly said to the media that he'd been playing injured all season.

Again, a comment or two does not reflect an entire fan base. Your assumptions are petty.
