Desean Jackson on the trade block

51 posts in this topic

He had a bad pro day. The logic was even Jamarcus had  good pro day, so it's pretty hard to be bad. Other concerns are body strength and too many check downs.

I agree with you, he's the best QB of the draft.

I think people are putting WAY too much stock into a pro-day. In terms of how important a pro-day is, it ranks far below the combine from what I've read. I didn't actually watch his pro-day, but I wanna know what made it so bad.

Strength as in getting the ball downfield or as in not being able to get away from defenders?

Arm strength is great. It's his lack of size. Apparently he had some difficulties with accuracy, but I think it was just nerve

I just looked up his height and weight and I didn't realize he was that light. Wow, that's really light.

Yeah, it's got to be a little bit hard to have scouts bearing down on you and holding up such high expectations for you.

I heard some of his low weight is because he had jaw surgery in the offseason. He went from 222 to 208 after the surgery I hear.

ESPN had him listed at 198, so at least it's better than that...

Bridgewater is my favorite qb in the draft. I think a lot of this stuff is more nitpicking than anything else. I think Bridgewater will be able to fill out and he is a pinpoint passer on film. A bad pro day doesn't change that for me

He must be quite the headcase for Chip Kelley to throw him on the chop block, especially considering he had a great season last year and the Eagles will be left with borderline scrubs for receivers.

Nick Foles will definitely see a drop in production.

Djax to the Jets makes perfect sense...Vick's relationship with him as well as the fact that Eric Decker will benefit so  much more playing next to em.

The Jets would go from a defensive team....to an offensive one?.... Weird.

Just a hypothetical, although with the way he phrased it I had to check NFL.com.

I think the Eagles trading him would be totally asinine.  They're the only complete offense in the NFL, don't spoil that by trading your clear number 1 receiver.

This story seems be heating up. NFL Insiders today seem to think that this is a matter of him not buying into Chip Kelly's system. That's to say the coach wants total commitment and the player seems to not to be "all in". The Jets would seem to be my choice for a big play for D=Jax. Mike Vick, and the money to take on a hefty cap hit being foremost in me saying this. This young man is awesome and whoever takes him is pay, big time. IMO.

Still laughing about last week when skip bayless said desean is worth a late 1st round trade pick.

If you are the Panthers with Jerricho Cotchery and Tiquan Underwood as your top 2 WRs...and are looking at maybe Odell Beckham Jr or Brandin Cooks as the best WRs on the board when you pick at 28...a trade for Desean Jackson would be perfect. The money is the only problem...no one wants his $10M salary because they know if they wait he will likely get cut and be available at a much cheaper price. If I was the Panthers I would have traded for him already...they have 0 talent at the position and have a young QB going into a big year of his career with a playoff team.

Although now there are rumors that Djax has smoothed things out with Chip Kelley and will stay in Philly...it seems like Kelley is playing all sorts of mind games with Djax. I still think he will be available after all this mess they caused.

Two words. Not happening.

Second point. Desean is a freaking idiot. I am forced to watch a lot of Eagles games up here..trust me, most Eagles fans don't even like him. Dude does some really dumb stuff out there that costs his team.

For now. Defenses started catching up with them late last season. I wouldn't be suprised if they came back down to earth a little bit this year.

Every time some new wrinkle offense comes out, they are scoring machines then defenses figure out how to defend ect..

[profanity deleted] in the Eagles armor is that they leave unblocked blitzers all the time in their crazy formations. The most legit defenses they faced last year were Minnesota, New Orleans and KC. They got shut down all three times.

Desean is a punk and mediocre receiver in my opinion and isn't worth trading anything worth of value, would rather use a pick on one of the talented wrs in the draft there's a few goodies in this deep class.

Well KC they played early in the season, so my guess is they weren't all on the same page yet.  NO didn't shut them down as the Eagles got 24 points, but they certainly played a nice game.  Against MIN, they scored 30 points and Foles had over 400 yards.  That's hardly being shut down.

And I don't necessarily think Chips offense is a "new wrinkle."  The only thing unconventional about it is that they are much more up tempo than most offenses we've seen before.  Other than that, it's not some new system like the read option.  I just think it's a good offense.
