I need help understanding forum coding?

Not really that knowledgeable on coding. 

 

If anyone could help shed some light on what Special BBCode is and could teach me how to use it, I would be greatly appreciative. I've managed to figure out how to use the "background" option when highlighting text with different colors but I'm unfamiliar with everything else. Especially, the different ways to use the various options and the parameters required to make them work.

 

Also, about the coding icon < > located next to the insert image icon. If you could explain that and maybe provide an example of how it works, I'd really like to understand. 

 

The main reason I'm so curious is for one, i've grown a new fascination of late with having new "hidden" options and two, I'm trying to learn how embedding Videos from other sites work. Especially, how to use the codes they provide to share their video on other websites, blogs/forums.

 

I'm not technically savvy but I do like staying informed. If you could help me i'd be very grateful.
