Because the steelers didn't play 15 yards off the line of scrimmage allowing us to complete almost every pass. It was disgraceful they way rolle played off the ball the end of the game disgraceful
Today you saw the difference bewteen a good D-Coordinator (LeBeau) and a total moron (Ryan). Watching Rolle give Ward 10 yard cushion at our 10 yard line was the funniest thing i have seen in a while.
We made the same mistakes on offense though, Cameron was awful today. Throwing the ball on 3rd and long in field goal range when we're ahead by only 3 points? Against the Steelers defense? Is that a joke?

The Steelers outcoached us today, it's that simple. And yeah, the ref was pathetic. But i'm dead tired of Rex Ryan and his inability to stop teams that have a winning record and to adjust during the game.
You have a problem with throwing the ball on 3rd and long......what the heck??

i will agree the huge cushions to the wr's was the d's downfall..but Rex a horrible coordinator? That's stupid on so many levels
In FG range, go for the low-risk yardage and put the game further out. I would have had no problems with it.

1. Rex Ryan plays tough for 57 minutes, then goes to a 3 man rush in the last 3 minutes? Gee...how many times have we seen that this season? Teams that play 60 minutes are always going to beat teams that play 57 minutes, in close games, every time.

2. The play calling today was absurd, IMO.

3. Flacco had a bad game.

4. Even suiting up McGahee was detrimental to the team. He is a liability, and that should have been obvious. Either inactivate him and bring in Parmele, or else just inactivate him and bring in anybody else who might help the team and stick with Mcclain, who played his heart out. Or else suit him up, keep him active, and ONLY bring him in in an injury situation.

5. What happened to Fabian Washington?

Yeah, when 3rd down is the ONLY time you throw it. The entire second half went run, run, pass. Thats pathetic.

The reason why there was so much cushion on the WR's is because our DB's were tired. Haven't any of you played football? That is the first sign of fatigue when you see those DB's backing up to give themselves more room so they don't get burnt. Ours can normally do that because they know they have excellent players around them that typically make plays. Rex called a great game and our D played lights out with the exception of the last drive and that shouldn't have resulted in 6(atleast not off of the Holmes catch) so stop critisizing everything and everyone for the loss because it was another great team effort with yet again another call that didn't go our way.

the conservative play calling was ultimately our downfall. the bad calls by the refs didnt help but our offense was pathetic. we never scored any touchdowns despite great field postion all game. especially on the ed reed fumble recovery where we had the ball on their 15. we had at least 5 straight 3 and outs in the second half.

guys lets get it together were not out of the playoff hunt and were still looking better than last season. so what we lost it happens lets move on cuz as of right now we only have the future not the past to worry about. dallas is going to be tough because they are fighting for the playoffs as well. lets just hope we get to meet them again in the playoffs.

I just don't understand Samari Rolle. Sometimes he makes plays, but then he does the dumbest ****. Why, oh why, is he the only I see lining up DIRECTLY with the WR. Yes he's 10yrds off the corner, that's the beginning of the problem, but the ONLY reason he turns his back on some plays is because he lines up directly on the WR and feels like he's going to get burned. I can see the contrast between him and others like Fabian Washington this game. Washington, like a good corner, lines up slightly off the WR so he can see the WR and the QB (the ball). Rolle lines up on the WR directly and gets the false sense that the WR is gonna burn him so he has to turn AROUND. If he lines up slightly off the WR, he can shuffle back -> side step -> run with the receiver AS he is looking for the ball. I'm so freaking confused, someone help me understand if I'm completely wrong.

Man, I swear the reason the Ravens lost today was Fabian Washington getting that hammy and Corey Ivy.....covering Hines Ward man to man, or rather, miming someone who might be expected to actually attempt such a thing. Santonio was playin' scared most of that game, Sweed is just a decoy, put Rolle or Walker (much better cover skills than Ivy despite his penalties) on Ward. What was that about?

Ah, my bad then.
I reported a troll earlier, not sure if that had anything to do with it but thanks for clearing it up.
Why aren't we able to do any of those?

The Steelers shredded us a new one with those.
We are getting shredded by them because Rex is calling these elaborate blitzes which pretty much entail blitzing a lot of guys. We aren't getting the pressure enough quickly, and it is setting up perfect quick slants. There was a time and a place to ease up on the blitzing yesterday. We obviously didn't stop until they drove the field and won the game.

They need to start rushing suggs and barnes at the same time more, Just because both will(Most of the time) take 2 blockers because how fast they are.

Well Barnes is fast but I don't know about Suggs. He is more of a mauler than a speed rusher. He doesn't beat too many tackles around the edge. The only reason he beat Chris Samuels during the Skins game was he faked inside first. I like Barnes though. I think one of our problems is lack of speed at linebacker. I think the only guy I would consider fast is Scott. Lets face it Ray isn't fast, neither is Suggs, and JJ has played well but he played DT in college so he's not running down too many running backs from behind.
