Well I guess we're stuck with him now... Just hope he can stay healthy and not be the distraction that everyone in Carolina said he was becoming. So much for getting a player for the future...

hey Mink you left out the most important part about Smith that we are also getting a outspoken offensive leader that we ve been lacking since Boldin. Somebody that will light fire under butts if they aint doing their jobs.

He's as tough a WR as they come! I am excited for this, hopefully he has healthy and productive seasons with us! I am sure we will still target a WR in the draft since this class is as talented as it is. Priority #1 remains to fix the O Line though! Let's get it OZZIE

I think it's a good signing, will help us immediately and hopefully be an example if how to play on the field for our younger guys.

Successful teams always have a good mix of youth and veterans. Let's hope S Smith can have the same effect on Brown et al like Q had on Torrey.

Just realized our starting receivers are both named Smith now lol

What are you talking about?  Signing Steve Smith doesn't somehow magically make us unable to find a WR of the future.  This just gives us a proven option as a stop-gap for such a player.  Very few WR's come out of the draft and thrive year 1.  It takes time to adjust to the speed of the game, the complexity of the defenses, etc.  Your post makes no sense

It's not every day you get the opportunity to sign a ultra-passionate football player. That's one of the reasons why the Ravens were so quick to go after him.

Welcome to Bmore Steve. Great to have you. Time to get that SB ring. Now we need a safety, a center and a RT and use the draft for depth.

This is great news. We go into the draft with only a few areas of need. We can be flexible with our picks and draft best player available. What a way to have a Purple Friday

Great work, FO. I thought he'd be expensive but the price is just right. Somebody in the Castle is mighty persuasive.

Former Carolina Panthers fan here.  The day they booted Steve, they lost me.  The day you signed him, you gained me as a fan.  GO RAVENS!  Now, I just need to learn all I can about you guys.

You will never ever regret signing Steve.  He has the heart of a lion and like a gazelle on the field.  He catches balls that are uncatchable and has never really had a great quarterback to receive from.
