The only true FS free agents worth looking at would be along the lines of like Woodson, Rhodes, Decoud, aaaaaannnnnnnnddddd DUN DUN DUN DUN!!!!!! EEEDDDD RRRRREEEEEEEEDDDDDD!!!!! But yeah nothing to write home about.

As much as I love Ed Reed and respect him. He is not neeeeaaaarly what he used to be. If anything he's more of a liability now. We are better off signing a safety from the draft.

THANK GOD!!! We have our LT of the future and we got him for a great price. He is young and extremely talented. We can get a right tackle from other means but we needed to lock this guy up. Great job to our staff.

Since quality FS FA's are becoming limited, do you think there is an increased chance we will resign Ihedigbo? It's somewhat concerning to potentially have a rookie (HaHa Clinton-Dix) and Elam in the secondary with only one year of experience. I'm all for Ozzy and the front office but hopefully they figure out the FS situation soon...

i agree. We were playing with 2 strong safeties and Ozzie made it clear he didnt want to do that again. So look for us to get a true Free Safety whether its someone on the roster, free agency, or through the draft.

i mean whats the point of drafting players if you arent give them a shot and with a name like baby ed reed, he mustve done something to deserve that name

stone4 If they thought he was good enough to play, they would've put him in instead of making Elam play out of position but they didn't so i don't expect their opinion to change on him now. Oh and Clemons was rated as one of the best cover safeties in the league last year so he is at least better than average.

damn the Broncos arent messing around. They signed T.J.Ward. They just signed Talib. And they're in the hunt for Demarcus Ware.

stoked we still have Monroe-great job front office, Denver should get Talib (overpriced choker) pay him 10 mil a year let them have Ware for 10 mil to while they are at it. He was great (KEY WORD IS WAS)

we believe in OZ

GO RAVENS

Honestly, I think Monroe was under-valued in the list of tackles on the market. He's still young enough and he jumped in our system last year and performed pretty well. Another year in our system should yield and even better performance. Ozzie was able to garner a deal that solidifies a pretty important position on the Oline, and for a decent price. Win-Win for both parties.

all this talk over a lineman this is good news but we still can't compete with the broncos or patriots. it was fun being one of the top teams in the AFC while it lasted but it looks like everyones gonna have to sit back an watch the broncos and pats battle it out every year to see who gets to the Super Bowl :(

and monroe settle by staying with us. If he would've gotten offered more out on the market he would've been gone but nobody offered him more so he stayed big deal

all there's left to do is sign ED REED, win another superbowl, and let Reed ride off into the sunset.

People saying he's washed up don't know what they're talking about. The reason he played horribly in Houston is cuz he had no motivation. When he got to the Jets, he played MUCH better playing under Rex Ryan and he even had 3 picks in his last 4 games. Correct me if I'm wrong but Elam had 1 pick the entire season while playing the fs position. Reed is still a play maker if he wanted to.

Weather or not we keep Jacoby Jones I still think we should sign Dexter McCluster. I think the priority now would be to resign Daryl Smith, it will be good to have Rolando McClain back and I hope he gets to play a lot, but Smith is a Must for sure.

Very important to get Monroe back in the fold. Still a lot of work to do but it's a very positive start. Just wondering how many comp picks they have and where there sloted. The loss of Oher and others will get some more picks but assuming that's for next year's draft?

This year the Ravens will probably get 2 x 4th Round picks (Kruger & Ellerbe) and 2 x 5th Round picks (Cary Williams & Reed). Easy to see why they were willing to give up a 4th & 5th for Monroe.

Any Free Agents lost this year will get us picks in next years draft (Assuming we don't sign more free agents than we lose). Based on his contract, Art Jones will probably get us a 4th Round pick next year - that can go up or down a round based on his performance.

Comparatively, Ravens scored big with Monroe. They saved at least $4 million by not tagging him and did a good job securing him in comparison with the other LT's that were signed. Sets us up well for the rest of FA and the draft.

We can't rule out Champ Bailey, we're not getting him as a corner but a safety, huge difference. A veteran floating over young Elam is a combination of muscle & wisdom.

Monroe's first task: fire agent and hire Albert's :D

How on earth has he made that deal with the Dolphins? Almsot 2 million pery year more for a LT most experts deem worse than Monroe...

If only they could find away to pick up Alex Mack on something like a 5-6 year deal that the Browns won't match.

The sad truth is that the Browns have a much free bigger cap space than we do, so it seems unlikely that there could be a deal we could afford and they couldn't. And I'm also quite sure they wouldn't be too keen on the idea of losing one of their top players to a division rival...

But I agree in that it would be great.

McCluster's been signed by the Titans, so that ship has left the harbor.

I agree with you, however if Cleveland is really serious about getting Revis (Thats the rumor) then they might not have as much money as they need to keep Mack depending on offers. Adding Revis along with Dansby and Whitner who they already acquired is really expensive. They still could keep Mack with Revis but they would end up cutting players.

That's funny because those are the 2 teams I see fading away into darkness for a few years. Last year NE had a very mediocre team and was completely carried by Tom Brady. It was actually very impressive on his part. He has 1-3 years left tops and I believe his productivity peaked last year. The Broncos on the other hand have built a very good team around Manning. I think losing in such dramatic fashion in last years superbowl will show in their broken confidence next season. They don't look unbeatable anymore. Manning has even less time left than Brady and I imagine his departure will coinside with cap issues from the rest of that team. So unless they both have 2-14 seasons and pull an Indy in finding a Luck type QB they are both in trouble.

I know this is off-topic, but I'd say they Broncos are looking more like they're trying to buy a super bowl now. They're going to implode soon under those contracts, especially since Manning only has a few years left.

Unfortunately, I see the Pats being in better shape. Their system is very QB friendly, so even Brady is gone, they should be relatively ok (I don't see them getting in cap hell or turning into a cellar-dweller).

Actually, Monroe should kiss his agent. He got more guaranteed money than Albert.

The structure of Monroe's contract is out. The team really backloaded it.

The cap hit in the out years is high. The hit on 2014 is paltry ... 3.2M. That leaves our current cap space somewhere in the neighborhood of 15M. That is much more than I thought we'd have left after this signing.
