I wonder if we could still try for A. Mack? Not sure what our cap space is looking like now.

Ravens at around 14-16 mil under the cap with this deal.

Top safeties flying off board like Tackles; TJ Ward, Antoine Bethea, Louis Delmas, Michael Mitchell. Whitner to Browns, Byrd headed to NO. Looks like Calvin Pryor or HaHa Clinton-Dix now becomes a priority in the draft.

Bryd to new Orleans is not a done deal they have no money to sign him plus there trying to resign Jimmy graham not a chance.

1. Re-signing Graham would free up cap space, not cost them it.

2. Byrd is interesting, because while a lot of the safeties are flying off the market, their prices are significantly lower than expected. Byrd was said to be seeking $10m per year, but frankly, its looking like maybe $7-8m per season may be a much more realistic option. He's certainly not getting top dollar from teams like New Orleans.

I didn't consider Byrd a realistic option, but if a week or two goes by and the market price comes down, the Ravens could conceivably be an option.

yeah if he stays on the market the next couple of days the ravens might get him at a bargin like they did with Monroe with a deal like 5 years 35 million 7 mill per which is realistic if he's on the market long.

Way better than what I expected. I had posted 5 yrs at 8MM and Ozzie beat that! So cool to be a Ravens fan. Smart and tidy organization with great leaders from Steve Bisciotti all the way down!

I am really hard on the man because I feel he has loads of potential and as such feel as we need to bring the light house A.K.A. Michael Oher back. (here comes the negs!) I was campaigning for Jah (left Hook) Reid but he may not even be with the team next season. I'm betting on about 30 negs....and, GO!

My bad mendi looks like Monroe was ranker #2 just behind Byrd. Still a Pretty big splash though wouldn't you agree?

haha, most definitely. I guess I just wasn't thinking in terms of retaining players we already had.

Really still hoping to get a wide receiver in free agency. I think we should go for a guy like golden tate or julian edelman.

I'm totally with you on that, but I want no parts of Tate. Edelman is the only FA WR I'm interested in.

... we just signed the #1 LT on the market at a price less than the #2 LT on the market (Albert) and less than the #4 LT on the market (Saffold).

Enough said.

Your Right! Monroe is way back at the #2 spot right behind the #1 ranked Jairus Byrd. I wasn't even in the ball park.

Monroe cap # for 2014 is 3.2 million. We are about 15.8 under the cap still

Where did you find the cap info? This is the question that i always want to know. The contract info almost doesn't matter because of the fact contracts aren't guaranteed. The cap info is what they should post.

If Monroe's cap hit is really 3.2m this year we have 16m left and a legit shot at signing Jairus Byrd. I'm just saying. Id give him 4 years 30m make sure his cap hit is low this year too. Why the hell not.

Signing Monroe was important and I believe we got him at a good price, will need to see how the contract is broken down further but this deal still leaves us with close to $16mil in cap space. I think we need to bring in a RT with Martin could be a possible target as he is still on his rookie contract (2014 is $1.3mil and 2015 is $1.5mil) so would be a low cost option and with his career seeming over in Miami they could be open to a low pick/player exchange.

Make sure we lock up Daryl and Graham, MAYBE Jacoby.

As far as other teams FAs, I like Clemons and Edelman. Could get a d-lineman too.

Also, how about Rolando McClain? Is he coming back for sure?

Good move. It would b nice to get Owen Daniels an a free agent safety an Steve smith that would b bananas. I expected this Monroe deal to cost us a lot more than it did, but o well that's what Ozzie does.
