Ravens Re-sign LT Eugene Monroe - 5 Years

I have to see the structure of that deal.  Not sure how browns could match it without "Wins" being in it.

weirdly structure a deal so crazy with bonus and instinvies and other things that the brown might just be like just here take him and don't even try to do anything.

I feel like if we structure in team wins... it'd be hard to match

"The Browns designated their two-time Pro Bowler as their transition player, meaning he's guaranteed to make $10.039 million in 2014. Teams can begin making offers for Mack Tuesday at 4 p.m. when the free agent period opens and the league year begins. The Browns will then have five days to match."

This is confusing to me - so he will make 10 mil in 2014 but does it matter how its paid out, can subsequent years be lower, no way you're paying a center that much... what kind of numbers would we be looking at? Like, what is a comparable contract you certainly can't give him more than your franchise LT...

He can sign the document saying he wants to be a brown. Or he can test the market and see what out there and if someone he likes comes he can can accept but only if the browns offers the same and gice the browns a chance to counter offer.

If the Browns sign him with that tender and not long term, he will make $10 million. The Browns are basically saying they'll match any offer up to $10 million, but Mack's agent is confident they can get around that, making it seem that Mack may be eager to get out

Sorry for being the party pooper, but while we have around $15m in cap room, we still have a ton of holes to fill. RT, competition (or replacement) for Gino, Daryl Smith, #2 tight end, FS, are some of the more pressing needs we have to fill.

@AlbertBreer: "Ravens' deal at deadline with Eugene Monroe, same way it did deals for Ngata, Rice, Suggs. And it was at the offer Baltimore made a week ago"

I hope this is a sign Ozzie has his mojo back.

Ideally you don't want to trully NEED something in the draft.  You want to have stop gaps where you need them and build through the draft.

Probably some role players here and there.  Daryl smith is my next priority

i agree and i really think the ravens need to take a long hard look at Chris Clemons for FS he is awesome in coverage and im going to join the hype train Mack is a possibility. There are other centers in FA but he is by far the best. Also i really doubt Gino will start in the future.

Alex Mack (Hopefully) and Chris Clemons or Jairus byrd(in some weird way) Thomas Decoud. we got options at FS.

Still a long way to go until September.

with mack as the one we want Byrd is not possible. Clemons could come for cheap

Although Oz probably had a huge role in this. Lets give alittle more credit to Pat Moriarty. Great deal for a franchise LT... That's like franchise RT money.

Such an amazing deal. I'm so happy right now; most important signing taken care of. As for my wish list I hope we can keep Daryl Smith, Jacoby Jones, and Corey Graham.
